Droid Charge hunt

I WON THE ONE IN SAN ANTONIO!!!! Well, my buddy Vince did. But he was there for me and will give me the phone once he gets it. Man I was sooo excited! I need that phone. I've had the Droid Eris(rooted) for almost 2 years.

Here's my story: I picked up my friend at 5pm. We headed towards downtown, cause I thought I'd be at Market Square based on map. Got tweet at 5:04 that it was at Sunset Station. Luckily I was on freeway already and was able to be at Sunset Station by 5:11. I knew exactly where to go and took shortcuts due to traffic. I parked, ran like hell and just frantically searched till I saw the guy with the camera. Started looking and called Vince to come where I was at, and he started looking. Found it in 4-5 mins. In that time about 6-7 people showed up, scared the hell out of me, but he ultimately got it. He was wanting me to say I found it but I said they got it on camera and for him to do all the stuff, I know who will be getting it that's all that matters...

Congrats to all winners, and look forward to next one they do and helping people from forum.

Can we get a thread going, or maybe post it in this one, for when they receive their winnings. I was told FedEx overnight day or day after it's released. I would just like to know when others get an email or just receive it.

Also, if by chance I get a free one from the sweepstakes, I will give away here. #Phandroid!
 
I was the first in the door for the Atlanta find. I sat down the road at the center of the first zoom in and about 15 mins before announcing the location, they zoomed the map in on Firehouse 11. I immediately drove there and parked to wait for the final location. I saw the tweet and ran inside. Unfortunately, I had not seen this or I would have looked for the damn hidden cameras. I had about a 5 minute lead on everyone else but I went the complete wrong direction to find the voucher. Walking in the place was funny because the waitress was clueless about the contest. She was trying to seat me and I told her that I was there for a contest that she would understand in a few minutes. Then I started flipping chairs and looking under tables. Damn! Can I ever win something??? I'll definitely find your guys when the next contest comes along. It was fun to follow and then to finally go down and pick the right spot.

Yes, it was raining like hell and I hydroplaned all the way to the location. It really sucked to go through all of that and to come up empty.

Edit: There should be a little extra special prize for the first to correctly identify the location. right?

You should've gotten a $25 gift card to VZW store. Also if you had joined the IRC we would have told you about the cameras!

This year however, they had a few people filming "fake" locations, that threw me off and ultimately made me lose. (Would have been the Seattle winner FOR SURE if it wasn't for her)

I did get the gift card. Immediately applied it toward my VZW balance. As for IRC, I didn't even know about this thread until after the hunt. I followed a thread in the Droid X forums but there wasn't as much insight there (although I did get good info that lead me to the correct location). When they do this again, I"ll be ready.
 
Haven't received email or phone yet. Won the San Antonio one. Please update here when someone gets it, as I will do the same. Anyone thought to call the PR person who took our info and gave us a card?

Hmm I tried the number on the verification letter I got...got routed to voicemail..I never got a card..
 
OK...I just called the PR rep that we dealt with...he was the camera guy and paperwork handler. He informed me that they got the phones this morning and were shipping them out today. I didn't ask if he was talking about all winners or just the ones he dealt with. (Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, and San Jose) But he said that he would be sending me an email with a delivery date once they've shipped. I will update here if any other info comes in. He did say I should have it in a 'couple' of day...can't wait...going to get case today!
 
Got my phone!!! Delivered today by FedEx. We had them deliver it to my friend's(who won it) work. I will go after work to activate on my account. I can wait to use it, my case should be here tomorrow. I just got the one from Verizon, 20% off. The Black TPU one. I will speed test SA area tonight and stream live flash(NBA game) to test also. Now, if I could just get off work now..
 
I got mine yesterday as well and took it to Verizon as well..however I hit a major snag with the manager on activating it as mine had the 4g card already in it she decided to say the following(keep in mind this is after I showed her all the letters you got with the phone).."I have reason to believe the phone is stolen.." Oh that was a real joy...after making several calls and then showing her the video of me winning she agreed to activate the phone.
 
Hey Mike From the Rochester one Good News Everybody The Samsung Droid Charge Came Today FedEx Overnight from Marketing called the FedEx this morning and asked if they seen anything for my home address they said yes its on a truck from marketing would be there by 4:30PM came even before that though id say about 11am it came I asked for a tracking number they could not see that information just that there was a package on the way to the house yaaness thank you all to all who put this on & VZW !!!!!
