Droid Eris VS Sprint Hero

Sorry douchenozzle,

The Eris has an issue with the screen getting dust beneath it also. The reason you haven't heard about it yet is because there aren't enough of them being carried around in pockets long enough to be a common complaint...yet. Just read a poster talk about getting it under his/her Eris within the past few days.

Douchenozzle....love it...gonna hafta use it!

Maybe not refined, but definately different (must be in order to incorporate proximity sensor). People are saying there is no lag on the Eris because it was just released, and more so because of the hype about the Hero's lag. Almost like a placebo effect. The Hero was flawlessly fast and smooth when it first came out... no one was complaining about lag. After a month, here we are with the, just as smooth as the Hero was when it first came out. Give Eris a month for its users to install apps and widgets from the market, sync all their contacts with facebook, like we did Hero and people will be complaining about the lag just as people are of the Hero now.

A-Ha! My predictions were correct. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: Eris's http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/21326-lagging-problems.html

I messed around with both the Droid and the Eris last night @ a Big Red store. I don't care for the Droid's bare Android or the sharp-edged, brick form factor. To be fair, its tough to get a solid feel on either phone, the security tether really interfered with the experience.

The Eris seemed to run quite smoothly. It had a lot of aps installed, and I was flipping around quite quickly... I felt very little lag. I like the size, though it felt smallish. Shape and button placement on the Eris were nice as well. I wish someone would make an android device that has no hardware buttons... 100% touchscreen, edge to edge.

One thing I noticed on the Eris... The notification screen showed 3 aps that were ready for updates. On my Hero, I go to the market to check that every week or so. Is that a function of a newer OS, or a setting I've missed?

That's a good question that I'd be interested to hear an answer to. In the Market, there is an option to be notified of updates, but I always figured that it meant if there was an update, it would list as such when you go to "My Downloads" area in the Market, and not an actual Notification in the bar. That would be pretty handy though.

Found it. I had to open "my downloads" and then hit menu, but its there. It's already set to remind me... that must be why it says, "hey, there's an update available for this" when I open downloads.
