Anyone actually use eclipse adb and debug mode for this to verify? Like I said before, I'm holding off for a while, this is my only phone. Even if the su install is fine, I don't want any bugs or user mistakes.

Now if i had a second droid, or if someone could figure out how to install in the emulator, that would great, and I could go to town and help out with massive *nix knowingz
 
IT WORKS! :)

Just rename to update.zip
boot into recovery and apply

:)

I am now running 2.0.1 and DIDN'T get it via OTA :D
 
I just successfully updated to 2.0.1 through the SD card/recovery console - freaking sweet, no waiting for OTA! Works perfectly, the screens/menus feel much more responsive.
 
Wait...so Google just left the update lying around on their servers? Holy balls I'm tempted to do this. Can anybody verify this is as legit?
 
1st post guy! im tired of waiting the ota update notification and just updated with the update.zip...everything works fine...the whole thing should only take less than 10 min...
 
Woo hoo Updating to 2.0.1 right now, I'm an impatient SOB. Thanks to whoever found out that google server site.
