I hear you about life getting in the way of AF;). Other than the murderous thoughts, hows the med working out?

Freaky crazy dreams, upset stomach, and i can't seem to stay asleep for nothing! Been up at 6 am past 2 off days and i work 3rd shift! If it works then yes, there worth it but F*CK this is killing me, LOL. (and maybe someone else, muha, muaha)

That's crazy man! I thought about going that route but didn't like all the potential side effects. Decided to go with vaping instead. I still use juices with nicotine, but am cutting the strength. I'm loving the flavors available so when I go nic free, I probably will continue to vape.

Can't say i've heard of 'vaping'
And yopur right, side effects were/are almost a deal breaker. But i only been on them just over a week so i'm gonna stick with it till the first month is out to see how i feel. It's recommended as a 6-month program and i'm already after 10 days smoking less, down to barely less than half pack every 24 hours.

'Vaping' is using an electronic cigarette. This allows me to get my nicotine fix and satisfy the oral fixation. The juices are either Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerine based (or a combination of both) with flavorings and nicotine added. The base provides the vapor (smoke) and throat hit of an actual cigarette, but doesn't contain all the carcinogens that tobacco smoke carries.

Edit: Since I got my e-cigs on Christmas, I have had only 5 tobacco cigarettes, the last was Jan 4th.

Hell ya. I know what your talking about now. Whats the cost like? No matter what i'm determined to quit, hope the chantix does it for me but if not then i'm gonna try other solutions

It varies. The initial cost for me was about $200. This was for a 2 piece pencil type batteriy/cartridge kit (containing 3 batteries, a USB powered e-cig, 35 prefilled cartomizers/flavor cartridges equivalent to 3/4 pack each, and various other accessories) and a 3 piece kit (containing 2 batteries, 2 atomizers and 10 cartridges which you fill with your own "juice", and the charger).
The cartomizers are roughly $6 for 5 and for me last the equivalent of 3/4 pack each. I don't use this one much - mostly the USB powered one when I'm sitting at the computer. I actually prefer the 3 piece system. I don't use the cartridges, I drip the juice directly on the atomizer.
The juices vary greatly in the cost depending on where you get them, and I haven't bought from the same one twice. The last batch I purchased cost me $25 for about 150ml. I've gone through about 3ml in 1 1/2 days.
Once you get the basics, recurring costs are the cartomizers (1 piece cartridge/atomizer) for the 2 piece system and the juice and atomizer for the 3 piece system. The atomizers I have cost about $7 each and with care can last months.

Dam man that sucks ... How much money do you think have spent over you life in cigs
HMM, that's difficult. When I started, I was buying cigarettes at between 50 and 75 cents a pack. Here they are about $6 a pack now. let's say the average over the 30 years was $3.25 and I averaged 5 packs a week. That comes to roughly $25,350 spent on cigarettes in my life:(.

Hey all.. back for the weekend. Smoking sucks for certain. I have smoked a pipe since I was eleven or twelve... I'm 58 now. I smoked cigs some.. mostly summer months. Haven't smoked em in years though. They were twenty five cents a pack back in the day. I don't know how anyone affords them today. My best advice to anyone is to never start the nasty habit. Pipe smoking is an undesirable vice as well. It has such a small market that it's becoming difficult to purchase quality products... especially pipes. I order my tobacco from a place in NY and on the rare occasion I get a new briar.. it's from the internet. The local tobacconists are all out of business. The only thing pipe smoking has going for it is most insurance companies don't consider smoking a pipe a negative and my yearly cost is around $300 unless I buy a new pipe. ...... a quality pipe back in the 60's would cost around $30-$50 and now run $150 to whatever you have balls to spend.
It is still a nasty smoking habit... I'd not recommend a pipe to anyone but I have zero intentions to every quiting. A good pipe and a cold brew takes the edge off of life lol.

that is why the only smoking i do is hookah on occasion and some of gods green hurbs but i would have to say for my hookah my yearly cost would have to be around 200 - 300 a year

Hookah as well as a pipe are a very relaxing smoke. Having done a hookah or two you can understand the enjoyment of a good pipe. There is a huge learning curve to accomplish the cool smoke of a hookah from a briar.. but it's rewarding as hell once you get there. A hookah is a far more social smoke and I think it's cool it has a niche in the US. The only hookah I ever smoked from was home built from stolen parts from my high school science department lol... but it was fun. Be warned, if you ever own your own hookah, be certain to change the water often. That becomes the nastiest vetch you'll ever experience.
