Download the .APK file, you should be able to find a link in the Droid Eris forums. Connect your phone to a computer and place that file in the "download" section of your device. Download ASTRO file manager in the market. Using astro go to the download folder in your phone and install the .apk file. Then, on your phone, go to settings>language&keyboard. There you will see an option to enable swype. Then go to any text field and swype is active!
 
Just to be a bit more helpful, I downloaded the swype apk from the droid eris 2.1v3 leak forum. I think it was around pg 13 or so. Sorry I cant tell you exactly where it is.

Never mind. I finally found it. For those of you noobs like me that might have been wondring.. It's the +>widget>settings>airplane.

Now I'm off to save my configuration.

Unfortunately, there is no speech to text icon on the swype keyboard, so what I do is if I want STT, then I switch keyboards. Perhaps there's a simpler way, I dunno.

Nick: Come over to the chat channel if you still need any help... all of us are very willing to help folks with stuff like that. If it wasn't for the channel, I wouldn't have swype on my DI. As it stands, because of the channel, I was one of the first to get it working.

Appbrain is associated with google. I find that I use it to organize my apps effectively. I'm new to android, but I like it the best so far. You have to be careful to read the reviews, because some of the apps can corrupt the OS. I know that by experience. I'm more careful, now.

You can use speech to text with Handsent for your texting while using Swype. Just hit the menu button and then the microphone. But not for other applications that need a keyboard. The Swype website did say that they are making putting a talk to text button as a top priority on their next release.

that doesn't work for me hmmmmm
 
When I hit the menu button while in Handsent with Swype running, speak (with the microphone) is at the bottom center. What do you have there?

I have show Cc/Bcc on the bottom center when I hit menu.. oh well. I have swype for n1.
 
I just ordered 2 Incredibles...One for me and one for my wife! Soooo excited to get away from T Mobile and dropping 3G everywhere we went!

Ordered Phantom Skinz protectors for it as well to protect that pretty screen! If anyone else is going with Phantom Skinz, use spring25 to save 25% off!

Now, back to hoping they get here before the May 25th day :)
