How do I shutdown / restart / reboot my Incredible?
The power button only turns off the screen, while the phone still runs.
I'd like to do this without pulling the battery. Is there a way?
Hold down the power button until you get a menu - 1st option is Power Off

Is there a way I can disable Mic / voice dialing?

My phone goes cray when I connect it to my car audio system or my home Onkyo system. I believe it is recognizing as if I am connecting a mic or something and goes for voice dialing or calls the last person automatically. Any solution?

Mine does the same thing when I connect external speakers. No solution yet.

I received my Droid Incredible on April 29 at 8:00AM at the verizon store.

I have been amused by it ever since. It does everything. Those 50k apps are great.

Today , I discovered it also makes phone calls. WOW , what will they think of next?

Returned my Incredible, poor reception coupled with HORRIBLE call quality was enough for me to say goodbye. All my previous verizon phones when compared to the Incredible are far better in both call quality and reception. Its really unfortunate such a great phone is plagued by such simple issues.

Wow the dev's have been busy, had 9 updates available today

Plus google earth is now in market, though maybe that is old news , i just noticed it today

I believe there is a defect that causes the phone to activate several applications at once when the headphone jack is used. When using external speakers to listen to Pandora, the phone will intermittently freeze, then a mysterious random music video not related to Pandora will begin to play. In addition to that, when the screen is touched during all of this nonsense, the voice search application pops up. Applying the back button removes the voice search but the audio version of the video can still be heard but the video is gone. Going back to my home screen, applications all definitely closed, nothing running, the music continues on from the "ghost" video. After backing out of everything and shutting down the phone, I have to start over with Pandora again. This happens almost every time I plug in speakers but never happens when I use earbuds. I cannot identify the application that is running the music videos which is very mysterious. I check all my my running apps, clear cache often and in general my phone is trouble free except for this annoying problem. I figured I'd post this here first before seeing if I have a bad phone. I would appreciate any feedback. (I just recently moved to a new house that has VZW tower 2 blocks away...hmmm)

I had the same problem until I did a *228 option 2. They don't do it automatically apparently.

Ok so the Inc is my first smart phone, had it since launch day and have been loving it. Yesterday however I really came to appreciate it. I had gotten an email on an important project I'm working on with some revisions to some specs that was attached in a .pdf. It could of possibly meant spending the rest of the weekend making changes and hoping I'd be able to get it all done. I got the email, reviewed it, and thankfully didn't have to make any changes and was able to reply as such. The beautiful part about it was that I did that while eating a burger and drinking a shake at a drive-in car cruise spot about 40 miles from home. Had I not had my phone I would of never been able to go out there to begin with and I would of ended up sitting home waiting on the email for nothing. My phone is my hero this weekend!

There have been a few threads on this. Problem is with the cable. Try a better quality cable. Same thing happened to me with a cheapo radio shack cable. I bought a gigaware cable and haven't had any issues whatsoever.

Just wanted to say, I just had some time to toy around with an Incredible.....you guys got a nice phone there.

It just made me crave for the EVO even more....and before any one wants to flame me lol.....I have Sprint, have always had Sprint, so obviously the EVO is my only choice.

But the Incredible is an awesome phone from what I could tell....seemed a better size for me since I have been used to using a PRE for the last year.

It's a great phone.. I've been having some call quality issues but htc emailed me saying that they're working on a new ROM for it and that they're aware of the issue. Why they couldn't do this beFORE it came out? I dunno! ;)

Is there any update on what is happening with this forum and the constant "Database errors?"

It is really spoiling the enjoyment factor of coming here.

Do the Admins need donations to perhaps get a better host? If they would let us know how we can help, I'm sure enough of us would.

If I missed an announcement concerning these problems, I apologize. But it would be nice to know when to expect these problems to be resolved.

^ I agree. My plan prior to getting the phone was to donate if I continued to visit after getting it, but I've held off doing so because of the very frequent errors. If a certain dollar amount could afford AF to migrate to a better host, maybe an announcement could be posted for all AF users to see to try to drum up the funds?

I would be more than happy to donate a few dollars if it meant not having to deal with the "database errors".

There's just some times where I feel like being on these forums, and when I can't it makes me sad! lol

Advanced task Killer?? Yes? No?...Why?? And how do i get the phone to vibrate for incoming calls and texts?

I know there are a lot of pros and cons posted about Advanced task killer, but my battery life has improved significantly since I installed it and use it regularly to shut down all the unnecessary apps that start up with the phone.

As for the "vibrate" settings, you should find those in settings under "sounds & display" Just be sure that "Phone vibrate" is checked.
