One question Steve.
If you move all the posts from people who need help with a problem into the "troubleshooting" sub-forum, why keep the main Incredible forum at all? I like to try and help people as their problem comes up, but I get frustrated having to look for their post because it's been moved.
So if we have a "Tips and tricks" sub along with an "accessory" sub, and the troubleshooting one, what do we post in the main Incredible forum?
That is a very good question, bro. (BTW, I love the Star Trek avatar. I know all the episodes of every series). A very good question.
First let me preface. This whole Incredible forum had, imo, become very, very messy. There were sub-Topics but no one was using them. When I came on I tried to put stuff in their appropriate places.
The Accessories fans got a bit miffed that their stuff was getting all lumped together and difficult to follow. They requested a separate Sub-Topic. They got it.
Fine. We have Batteries stuck up on the top of the main forum together with some other stuff and the DI Lounge. I'm trying to keep relavant stuff up at the top and letting the irrelavant stuff drop (like our old Official Incredible Thread.
)
Now, the Sub-Topics were not my idea, but as long as we have them we might as well use them. I would surmise they were put there to make things EASIER to find if you were looking for them. For example, if a forumite wants to look over help topics, so that they may help out others, they know where to go. Also, it is unlikely that someone's request will get buried on page 2 or 3 as quickly using sub-topics.

So the question you have basically is this, if we have all that stuff going over to the sub-topics, what stays in the main topic? Good question. The answer has become the following. Stuff stays that doesn't fit in the sub-topics. Topics like "I love my droid incredible, Wow! Another DI commericial!, software questions pertaining to the DI.
Ideally, it would be nice to have another sub-thread for DI software, but I'm not going there. Only if people want it.
So, that's where it is now. Is it perfect? No. Does it clean things up? Yes. Is it my idea? No. I'm just doing my job adhering to and enforcing the original concept laid out by the Admins.
Am I rigid? Absolutely not. Whereas I am attacking this issue with a fervor, I am not egotistically bound up to it and am open to suggestions and corrections.
Live long and prosper!
