We'll see what I have in the morning before I go to my VZ store for another refurb. Don't know just yet how I prove the thing isn't charging but will charge in my old phone. It took some convincing as well as some bitching but they are sending me another refurb. I lobbied hard for a new one but it fell on deaf ears. They are giving me a $10 credit on my next bill and are working on a different plan for me. I hate to be suspicious of this.. but wtf... why are they wanting me to change plans? I have four phones, through my business, on a family shared plan. They advocate they can save me money by moving me to a business account which has five lines.. I only need four.
They say I can save money by having a fifth phone activated.. sitting on a shelf over the fam plan. They are sending someone out to try and sell me on this change??????? Is this something new? I've never had VZ call on me for diddly. They also want to roll my home/office number into this package for additional savings. Has anyone been down this avenue?
 
sorry man but it sounds like a load of crock it may save you money for alike 6 months and then bam butt hurt when the bill incresses by 100% man

I'm more than a bit suspicious. I've had two or more phones with VZ for near twenty years. I went with them when they first came to town. I've been with them every since. I've paid them countless dollars and yes I do think they likely owe me something. Are they going to take care of me... make me a special deal.. go out of their way to save me money.. Hell no they aren't. They were trying to appease me today for I was hoppin mad when I went in there and they knew it. But to "take care of me" is just not in their nature. If they are trying to talk me into something.. saving me money lol.. it will either cost me money or I'll end up with a worse package deal than I have now.
 
G`Day and happy St Pats day to ya. First two games in the NCAA tourney and I'm already out of the running lol. Only have one bracket left that is correct. So much for the luck of the Irish. Sitting home today.. catching up on some chores and waiting on my next refurb. I think I'll have a desktop full before I am up and running again... sheesh!
 
I've partied myself out. Happy St. Pat's day everyone. Hope you had a good one and won't be too hung over tomorrow. I think I finally got a working refurb today.
Setup went fine and it seems to charge ok. I never heard from VZ so I don't know what fantastic money saving change they were going to put in front of me. I think they were just puffing smoke.

This is my third refurb. All three were like my original with an amoled screen. When I took my first broken refurb in last week.. I asked the salesman if there was any way I could request an amoled screen. He had an incredible as his personal phone but had no idea what I was talking about. I told him how he could check.. his was not an amoled so he put his phone next to mine.. you could see he was disturbed at the difference. I told him his was far superior to mine in the daylight so he didn't feel bad and left.

Hope this one works out. I've never actually compared the 2 screens side by side. Is it really that noticeable? My external speaker is blown (not bad but definitely noticeable), but I don't want to go through the hassle of unrooting my phone, getting a replacement (which may or may not have the amoled), then rerooting and resetting up.
 
Guess I have gremlins at work. I left a message this am and it's nowhere to be found lol. Basically I was stating that the last refub setup went great. Can't blame Skorpious for not wanting to change phones.. it's a hassle even if you aren't rooted.. can't imagine the extra hassle that might add. Also mentioned I'm on my fourth Dinc now and all amoled blkbelt. Beginning to wonder if that's all they have to send out. Sorry to hear that Rawlings was sick too. Guess that catches me up lol.

haha nice and good on getting the good phone... and with beeing rooted the setup is SUPER EASY you just root then run you android restore and then your phone is 100% back to what it was before you unrooted it

and no my school was knocked out in the first buzzer better with .20 of a second left on the clock
 
Ouch... sorry about that. I'm a huge KU fan and I'm still in the fight. They call it madness for a reason so there is no telling who will get upset next.

I may root this phone before it's over but right now.. I can't think of a reason I would want to. Can you think of a good reason why I would want to root? What will the phone do or do better that I'm missing out on now? I'm a middle of the pack sort of user. I depend on my mail and my messages as well as my phone to keep me abreats of my businesses. I do navigate some and I do search out specs and such while at work. Other than that.. It's a mobile communication device for me.

haha sorry i had ku in my bracket getting beat in the second round hahah

and really for you man i only see two really good reasons for you to root one to get rid of all the bloat wear so that the bat life will be better and wont have all the annoying programs in the background running
the second is the HUGE one and one of the biggest reasons why i jumped was the ability to ndroid backup. having that basicly snapshot of your phone that you cna go back to at anytime is a really nice tool
 
I can see the advantage of a program saving my configuration... especially after putting my stuff on two different refurbs last week. Is that a one click reinstall or does it just save your configuration/software so you can see what you had? I've never had a battery issue.. unless I'm in a basement or somewhere that I have no service. If I catch that.. I use the airplane mode until I'm out of the black hole area.
I do have a lot of programs that I don't/won't use but so far they have not bothered me.. and I don't bother them. I'd just as soon not have them on the phone... but it's no biggie for me that they are. Any other perks I should know about other than joining the elite group of the rooted?
 
Morning troops. Do you have a big day planned? Personally, I'm watching basketball. I have to see my local U through their second game in the NIT and definitely have to root KU on into the sweet sixteen.

it is a one click install and it restores everything apps data system apps all of it... the other advantages are the rooting would be all the root apps that you would now have access to and of corse the "dark side" of romming your phone too hehe :cool::cool:
