My thoughts...

He says he's not ranting, but his tone sure sounds like it.

On the 3G speeds, I've done head-to-head speed tests with several iPhones and I have beaten everyone one of them. I've also gotten download speeds greater than he's claimed.

I will give him the fact that worldwide most carriers use GSM as a standard; but I would fault that on the U.S. not agreeing to any standards. But really, how often does the average user travel overseas? Although I am going to Munich in September for Oktoberfest and my DI isn't going to work there; but still I don't plan on calling anyone anyway.

As for LTE, the iPhone 4 is not an LTE or 4G phone...and I bet you that Verizon will probably have a LTE phone before ATT.

I love my DrInc. It is the hands down greatest device i have ever owned. I do own an ipod touch and when i got that i thought it was the best. Then about a week later i couldnt stand the "chains" and jailbroke. I still like my ipod but it hasnt gotten nearly as much use since i got the Inc. I think its funny how basic the iphone 3gs and ipods really are. There is absolutely no customization at all. I know they are fixing this with OS 4.0 but still, not nearly as customizable as the Inc. As for shooting in 720p...If im in a situation where i want to record in HD, i wouldnt be using my phone. I would make sure i had an HD video camera. Might as well shoot in 1080p.

Just tell your buddy this: Yeah, well my Incredible can do one thing your iPhone can't...be used to amke actual phone calls! My Incredible can actually see and use it's network! I don't have to go stand on the southeast corner of the 4th floor of the building I work in to get a signal! AT&T network is a farce.... and there is no app for that!

As much as I love my Evo, I know that the Iphone 4 will be awesome as well... No Doubt. It is apple, and that is why so many people by apple products... But as some of you have pointed out... The Evo (Incredible, Hero... whatever droid phone) and Iphone are both... phones (granted I got the Evo because the Palm Pre is a horrible phone, no apps, but a great OS). The main reason for it is to call, right? How are you going to call anyone using the AT&T network, when you need to position your phone to face the directional wind current, triangulated with the current position of their 2 satellites? What I'm trying to say is, AT&T service is horrible. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E... I would rather talk to someone on two metal tin cans connected by a string! HORRIBLE!

What's the point of this thread, out of curiosity?

I guess I have no real point. Just sharing w/ the community how polarizing these devices are, how much I enjoy my Incredible, etc.

If it's more appropriate for the Droid lounge or somewhere else, I'm cool w/ the thread being moved and my bad.

As a former iPhone owner, I can honestly say that the most important function to me on ANY phone, is the ability to make and receive reliable phone calls. I could never do that on AT&T, dropping at least 50% of calls. My Incredible on Verizon has NEVER dropped a call, or given me the famous iPhone message "Call Failed".

The iPhone is a great device, tethered to a really s*itty network.

I also routinely get 2.5 mbps download speeds on Verizon's 3G network, which is plenty fast for my use.

no bad, bro... just curious. Since this is not really about the incredible..I'm gonna take your advice and move it to the Droid incredible lounge, where there's more freedom to chat. My concern was that this type of flame he sent you would turn this thread ugly. So, I'll keep it here but merge it with the Dinc Lounge. Have fun. Keep it on topic and keep it CLEAN, guys!

Iphoners have one thing in common, they dont use the phone function since AT&T cannot hold a call. sound quality on iphones is also quite bad.

Is it just me, or is phandroid.com having issues right now? It keeps giving me a log in popup. Worse, about a dozen popups for each forum page I go to.

What the Hell was that? The forum and Android.com itself has been down for me since last night. It came up briefly this morning and then was gone again! Even "Phandroid.com" was down?

Do you guys need financial assistance to get a better host?

How does someone test that?

Does anyonw know how to forward sms or mms messages. I use to take photos or forward funny mms all the time with my old phone. My new Incredible doesn't show me an option to forward a text that came in. I can forward e-mails just not texts.??? Lost
