You might be right Gmash. However, there is nothing keeping me from taping a show on VHS. It's for my private use. It's not any different laid down digitally on a hard drive inside the DVR. Easier, that's for sure. :) Better quality, no doubt. But still the same recording of a program on my TV.

I'll have to do some research.

Probably the more concerning ones are the Pay per View things. Plus, taping something to VHS doesn't make it nearly as easy to ditribute as having it in digital form. Same reason DVD makers keep improving their encryption to try and stop people from ripping them.

I would love to be able to pull stuff off my DVR to keep. It would be nice. I also plan on ripping all of my DVDs to my NAS so I can watch them without having to find the disk. But I have no plans to distribute them, so they wouldn't have to worry about me.

I have no desire to profit from any recordings either. I doubt you could make any money even if you had a desire. Most everyone enjoy the same service and subscriptions as myself. It sure would be cool to save the few things that mean something to you though.

It's going man living the hand dealt to me... Been doing school work and re doing the garden getting it ready we are going from 2 5x5 feet boxes to 1 5x5 and a 10x10 above ground just about triple our growing space

That should prove fun. I've been lazy and haven't done a thing to my garden since last year. It won't be long and It will be warm enough to do what I should have done last fall.

haha i wish we had that here but when it snows here it is gone before anyone can take a picture of it haha

and speaking of garden and you may like this my pipe man, from the ghost peppers i grew last year I made a OMG HOT hot sauce and entered it in a wing competition by hooters here at the beach and it won 1st in hottest sauce (50$ cash) and 2nd in best flavor (20$ gift card to hooters) hehe not bad for 8$ worth of plants :)

we have the opposite problem... it is so wet here to the point that our yard has had most of the grass die from being to wet and to cold ... i kinda wish it would dry out but we are expecting up to another inch of rain here today again

haha yeah hot is an understatment the ghot pepers being 100x's hotter then a habeanarro ... i made a pure sauce that almost no one could more then one wing and then i made a cut back version... i had to add an almost 10-1 ratio of other ingredients And boil the sauce to get it to a level that could be used for taste and not just shear omg heat and pain.

Good plan. The super hot stuff seems more like a novelty to me. :)

belave it or not the super hot (well all hot) can be very good for you... the main ingredient in peppers that make them hot (capsaicin) is a natural join lubricant, it can also be used as a rub (think icy hot but hotter) for aches and pain... so i think eating them and suffering for a few mins out ways the good they can bring (not to mention the vitamins and stuff for eating fresh veggie)

Hey... I'm very impressed! I like the stuff hot but that sounds way too hot for me. Man how I do love a fine home made sauce though. I'd have given it a taste but not much more than that. I'm not a fan of habanero. I like the heat but I just don't care for their flavor. Do the ghost peppers have that bitter dominating taste about them? I've never tried a ghost. I grew some interesting and hot peppers last year but I can't tell you what they were lol.
They were supposed to be jalapeno plants. Two of the six plans had very similar leaves but the plant grew almost twice as tall and had peppers looking a lot like a jalapeno but much larger and much much hotter. The meat of the pepper was a whole lot thicker so there was a lot of pepper per pepper. I loved em.. whatever they were.

It's been so dry here that the grass crackles under your foot. Today, a different story. It started snowing around nine this morning and by noon we had five inches. It's let up now but that was just the beginning. The heavy stuff is supposed to hit tonight with 12-18 inches. We sure need the moisture so I'm not bitching.
 
yeah I would love to have that kind of show i am bigger guy and love the cold...
as for the peppers i know what you are talking about with the habanero, surprisingly ghost peppers dont not have a very bitter taste but there is a good pepper taste the tasts is something between a jalapenos and chyanna peppers... i don't know what they might be that may take some looking it, did you save any of the peppers or seeds?
 
We ended up with almost fifteen inches of snow. I just did get myself dug out today.
I could have gotten out yesterday but had no need. It felt good to just be home out of the weather. The snow caved in the gazebo roof and walls around my hot tub. It was one of those factory redwood jobs with glass sliding doors and a skylight. I have no idea what it will take to replace it.

Yes, I saved some seeds just in case. I talked the nursery dude about the peppers. He had no idea. I guess they got a lot of seedlings in last year with screwed up flats. Especially the peppers and tomatoes. He also said there are so many hybrids out that there really isn't any guessing what the pepper might have been. It was nothing that he ordered so it's something he's not likely to get again.
 
Hey Guys and Girls how is everyone?
my and my families life were flipped upside down this weekend if any of you all pray include my family

I know there is going to be a very hard and very long fight ahead of us and nothing we can do can change it or make it go away...

this may be my farewell to you guys here as things get worse and bills pile up school and internet wont be high on the list of things to pay...
I wanna say thank you all for the friendship and help that i have received over the years and I hope I helped some along the way

its a lot closer then the extended family its my mom and then there are things with me that makes it... life ...things just coumpound when 1 rough time is when they ALL happen together
