It depends on exactly what you do. The tech industry is huge here and they are always looking for people. Same with the Universities and hospitals, etc.

I'm falling into more of a Windows admin guy, though I do have limited security training (have my security+)

With a large bank now, I could see relocating to SD

Where do you live now, I forgot. A friend of mine wants to move to Boise Idaho, why, I don't know. But he is a branch manager for Wells Fargo Bank and is trying to transfer. No openings right now.

5 seconds south of Cincinnati in Kentucky.

Does see like a weird move. But to each there own I guess

He was born and raised here in San Diego and he says he wants to experience "seasons". I told him he'll get his fill of seasons in Boise, pretty fast, especially winter season! LOL

I'd hate to only have one season here in Kansas. It would always be 110f or -6f without a change. At least with the changing seasons we get one day in the spring and fall where the temps are in the mid seventies. We do get 32 inches of rain a year. Of course it all falls over a holiday weekend. And the snow.. how we enjoy our snow. It covers up all the dead drab of winter. I just don't think I could take Kansas if there wasn't a change to look forward to.

We do get "seasons" just not that extreme. Our nights in the summer are in the 60's and in the winter they drop to the 40's to low to mid 50's. I grew up here and when I moved to Washington state for ten years, I never could get used to the winters. Shoveling snow is just not my idea of fun.

Snow is a bugger and it's removal stinks. Luckily we don't often get more than a half foot at a time and it rarely is on the ground for more than a few days. I sure hate driving on slick roads but they are few and far between. I have some great memories of my kids sledding in the snow. Now that they are grown, it could not snow for years and it wouldn't bother me.

I had a 20 ft walkway between my back door and my garage in WA. Keeping that clear was a bitch. In no time, the snow on each side of the walkway where I threw it, was over my head.. I am very happy to be "home"

That is serious snow. Luckily we don't get snows like that here. The worst snow I recall in my sixty years here was less than two feet. It rarely snows on snow.. the snow melts before more falls. Build up like that would be terrible.

It's been pretty calm around here the past few years. South central Kansas has seen it's fair share of tornadoes in the past. It's pretty much in the middle of tornado alley. I guess growing up with them has lessened my fear but I do have total respect and keep an eye to the sky when conditions are present.

Hey Musky. Good sushi sounds great. We only have one great sushi house in town. It's pretty up scale and expensive but all of their dishes are great and sushi to die for.

We have a little neighborhood shop that has several "half price" rolls every month, so it helps with the price. And their sushi is great. My wife and I get out of there for under $30, and most of the times we have leftovers.

Excellent. You are fortunate. Here in Kansas... we are not known for our sushi lol. The place I was talking about that has great food will cost a man around eighty bucks for dinner as long as you don't have drinks. Nice place.. great food... but a special occasion place to eat with my budget.

Wow, that is upscale even for San Diego, let alone Kansas! I guess more competition down here helps, we have sushi places all over town.

We do as well. But most places serve up a very poor excuse for sushi. You definitely want to stay away from the sushi bars in the buffet places.. I mean that stuff might be days old even. One of my daughters lived in Cal. a few years. Loved the night life and the good eats. We are a long way from an ocean here lol. Fat chance of getting anything resembling fresh.

This little place is family owned and the Japanese father and two of his sons make the rolls while you watch. Everything is very fresh. It wasn't near as good when the previous owners had it, but they sold out to these people and they really improved it.
