Edit: I lost about 30 posts! You know what they say... 6810 posts forward, and thirty backwards! ;)

Contact lenses day three: This is the second day I put them in for myself. It was less of a hassle/comedy today. Not by much. I hope I get used to them. The doc says I'll see ghost images up until my brain gets used to processing the multifocal images, which can take 7 days.

For the past three days, I've gotten headaches after 5 hours of use and had to take them out. I'm going for a marathon today. 10 hours. w00t! (Steven pumps fist)

Thanks for the updates, the wife has been bugging me to get them for a year or two. I just can't get over the idea of putting them in. Do you have the kind that you can sleep in or even after you get used to them will you have to take them out every night?

Air Optix Aqua Multifocal - Overview

This is my lense brand. You can sleep with them in. I don't know much about that, but as I understand it, the overnight thing is supposed to be occasional? Not all the time? It risks infection and stuff.

Good looking out Steven. Had a friend who payed a premium for contacts that lasted like a year i had thought. Without taking them off at all. Was thinking i MIGHT be able to live with that, maybe. They were pretty expensive though. Am so sick of wearing glasses.

Good luck Steven I have worn normal contacts for more than six years and can't go back.. once you get used to them I can't live without them

Thanks.. I've had them in for almost 10 hours. I'm doing better with them today. Hardly notice they're there.

I've got this little glitch that keeps happening. whenever i am at a screen with a keyboard in portrait mode, and i hit the home key, the home screen moves up and down rapidly before it actually goes to my home screen. What causes this?

I imagine hitting the home key is causing it. :)

You'd have better luck getting an answer if you posted in the "troubleshooting" section or maybe the "Tips and tricks" area, we're all drunk in here. ;)

YOU LITTLE WISEA$$! You remind me of someone.... lemme see...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Putting contacts in day three: no problems. You see, the reason they tell you to keep the other eye open while you're doing it is so that you can actually see the contact going in, in order to guide it.

:)

You can sleep in them but it's not recommended. I sleep in mine - bad habit.

I've been wearing contacts since I was about 16 (give or take a year or 2 lol.. I don't keep tabs on this kind of stuff). Piece of cake to put in and take out once you get used to it.

I used to wear Focus Night & Days but they weren't very good.

For the last two years I have been using Acuvue Oasys (ferrari of contacts). I can't even tell I have anything in my eyes, they are amazing.

I've heard good things about Air Optix Aquas too because they have higher oxygen permeability which is better for your eyes if you sleep in them and theoretically lowers redness.

But I think the Acuvue Oasys are more comfortable than the Air Optix. They also have UV protection where as Air Optix don't.

So from my experience and research

Acuvue Oasys: More comfortable, UV protection. 2 week replacement.

Air Optix Aqua: Higher oxygen permeability, lower cost. 4 week replacement.

In the end, I've stuck with the Oasys and love them. These are 2 week disposables (replace every 2 weeks).

You won't go wrong with either I'm sure.

Sometimes I've gone the full 2 weeks without taking them out and I still can't tell they are in my eyes.

I'm trying to kick the habit because I don't want to go blind or something

I can no longer stand wearing glasses. I do so every once in a while for a couple days in a row to give my eyes a break.. But they drive me crazy!! I just want to throw them into traffic.

Best part of contacts: You can lie down with your head sideways on the pillow and fall asleep to a movie without your glasses getting in the way and then crushed under your body after you wake up the next morning :);)

The only thing I don't like about them is eyes get irritated easier. So if you are out drinking late and there is a lot of indoor cigarette smoke, you are going to have really red eyes and people think you are wasted or stoned when it's really just the contacts doing it. It's not as bad if you take them out every night though.

I plan on getting lasik after I save up for some more important things however.

I bring Visine on party nights to remedy the cause and kills the redness and any irritation pretty easily.

Argh so today, i"m feeling a little under the weather, as I just arrived at work I had to "do some paperwork" and my stomach feeling like a mess puts me in quite a hurry as I put the seat down, sploosh goes my phone.... I usually bring it in and catch up on several sites while doing said paperwork. The phone was in there for half a second and is now residing in the altitude chamber we have. Awful start to the day....

My sympathies Goat. Hope it recovers and all is right with the world again.
