I'm having issues myself. I'm going to go all the way back to 2.1 update 1 and start again:(.
 
sorry.. why back to 2.1? Can't you reset to 2.2 afresh? Or is it the 2.2 OTA that's messing you up?

Actually, I never took the 2.2 OTA in the first place. Been running leaked 2.2s since they first came out. I ended up doing the 2.2 RUU then reroot and reflash my FrankenROM. We'll see if the FCs clear up.
 
Ok...American National Politics needs to take an American National Holiday. I hate this class.

Totally listening to "The Academy Is..." A band I though I would NEVER listen to...and I dont hate it...

so my bad day is that i found out i lost my usb drive with some of my homework on it :( hopefully ill be able to find it
 
Arrived at work this morning - no coffee:eek::mad:. Got slammed this week with repairs and we will be essentially shut down starting tomorrow for inventory.

Starting to play around myself, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm starting to notice something. All of the leaked roms I've tinkered with, were somewhat buggy.

I tried the r2d2 one from the d2 for my dx. I got it in alright, but it took twice as long to load and swype wouldn't work with it.

I tried the latest leaked 2.2 deodexed and it took me FOUR times as long to boot it up as the 2.2 ota.

I'm starting to think that the ota's are the ones used for a reason. I notice you having the same issue.

Am I wrong?

You are correct that all the leaked ROMS were buggy in some form or another. In my opinion ALL ROMS are a bit buggy. It is a matter of what bugs you are willing to deal with.

I don't know how it works with the DX, but every time I flash a new ROM, I do a complete wipe. This includes the dalvik cache. All ROMs seem to take forever to boot initially in this case due to building the dalvik cache from scratch. After that, they do boot considerably faster.

I use Adrynalene's FrankenROM for my everyday use and have had very few issues (most were my own doing, not related to the ROM itself). But I do frequently flash the various ROMS out there, though I tend to stay away from the ASOP ROMs because I like Sense. I believe most of the Sense-based ROMS today are modifications of the OTA. I did recently check out the MIUI ROM and liked it a lot, despite the iOS look of it. I may switch to it once it progresses a little more.

As for the problems I was having yesterday. That turned out to be my fault - I restored a bad nandroid (one I had made of a "dirty" configuration). This illustrates the biggest problem I have now - keeping track of which nandroid is which:D.

Good point. When I make it to work on time, the sun isn't up yet. When I take my son to school before coming in, the sun is just starting to peek through the canyon as I'm getting to work.
 
Yeah, It seems I'm three hours behind most everyone else on this forum. I also stay up late and sleep later in the morning, so even noon seems like morning to me. ;)

When I posted that comment it was 10:16AM here at the beach in Southern California. :D
