Hi guys, figured I'd drop this in here rather than starting a new topic. I'm having a weird echo issue with my Droid Maxx that I can't seem to figure out. Here's the lowdown:
I have a JVC head unit in my 2007 Honda Pilot. The head unit is a 2013 model I bought a few months ago. I had it paired via Bluetooth with my Razr Maxx and it worked perfectly. The phone part and the streaming audio was beautiful. Once I got my Droid Maxx, I paired the two and all worked fine. There were a few things I had to get used to, such as reduced functionality from the radio because of Touchless Control.
When speaking with my wife on the phone via the hands-free BT link on the radio, she complains of hearing an echo. Not an echo of my voice, but of her voice when she's speaking. The echo isn't transmitted to me; everything sounds fine on my end. I tried adjusting the noise cancellation and the mic levels on the radio, but nothing helped. My Razr Maxx didn't do that, so I was stumped.
I got another clue last night when speaking with her via the phone's speakerphone. She again complained about the echo of her own voice she was hearing. So that made me think, the issue isn't the BT link or the car radio, but something about the mic on the phone. I looked all through the phone but I can't find any place to make adjustments to the mic.
That's the background, so the question is, is anyone else experiencing this issue and if so, were you able to solve it? I Googled the issue and came across a person that solved a very similar issue by removing the case from their phone. I have the Verizon bumper case and was going to take it off and see if that helps - figured it can't hurt. Any other ideas or suggestions?
