droid to droid x?

Okay so i've had my droid for a year now. it's time for an upgrade. Okay this may be long..

I ordered a droid x from wirefly (never again, but another story entirely) for my husband who is currently using a storm (yes, the OG storm). when it came in we set it up, and a couple of issues arose.

First, it would NOT sync to his google calendar until I factory reset the phone and tried again. When I first sync-ed his google account with the phone, he did not have a calendar set up; i did it after the fact, but before the factory reset. Will it never sync with calendar after the initial sync?

Second, after less than 24 hours the camera app stopped working. if you opened it, or pressed the shutter button the screen would flash black, and then go back to the home screen. I installed a couple of other apps that use the camera and they all worked fine, so I can be relatively certain it wasn't a hardware problem. Is this a common problem? or was this just a fluke?

That phone has been returned to wirefly and we're just waiting for them to change our upgrade back before we order two from verizon.

So questions for me.

Coming from a droid (i'm not considering the droid 2 because i never ever ever use the actual keyboard so it's useless to me-i much prefer swype), will the actual buttons(home, back, menu, search) on the phone be bothersome? or is it one of those things you just get used to?

My droid's battery is absolute crap. I can't go more than half a day (about 4-5 hours, usually less) without charging my phone. is the X's battery any better?

is size an issue? or again, is just a getting used to it thing?

thanks!!!

The camera problem is a problem some have (myself included) with 2.2 that can be fixed with a reboot. I came from the eris and the battery lasts almost twice as long. Also the buttons were very easy to get used to.

1. At first I wished the buttons were like the ones on the Droid/Droid 2, but have since gotten used to them and like the fact that they are hard to accidentally hit.
2. Get the extended battery (the 1840 mAh from Verizon, not that 3500 mAh from Seidio), right now it's like $25 bucks and it's night and day better than the stock one.
3. Size is not an issue, you will grow to love it.

i have had my x for about 3 weeks now. previously i had the droid1. the x's battery lasts longer than the droid and with the extended battery i find myself having to try to deplete its charge.

i too like the hard buttons (now). no more accidentally hitting the search button ( i know you know what i mean lol).

the size is what i love about the phone. it fits perfectly into my pocket and is much easier to read web pages.

ps : use this code at motorola.com for 60% off of the extended battery just remember to purchase the battery door as well.
