Help Droid Turbo not ringing when someone calls....help!

I'm 100% sure my issue is not a ringer issue. A call from my car dealer went straight to voice mail; a call from my neighbor (whom I called and asked to call me back when the dealer's call went to voice mail) went to voice mail. I called from my home phone and it rang... and I did nothing in between. I checked the contacts to make sure "all calls go to voice mail" was not turned on for the dealer and my neighbor... it was not. Verizon has admitted to me that this is an issue...

I assume this is post the update discussed earlier RedHorse, correct? I don't believe I have had any problems since the update but again it is tough to know when you are having the problem unless someone complains about not being able to get up with you or random voicemails start showing up.

Do you have Advanced Calling turned on? If yes, if you turn it off for a while, does receiving calls get better?

Hey Everyone,
I was having the same issue, when someone calls me, My phone vibrate but doesn't ring and all my notification tone was working.
Tried lot of solution but non worked, finally I uninstalled some of the recently install App, restart the phone and the problem is gone.

I am not very much sure but if I am not wrong, it was caused by truecaller App.

Hope it might work for you also. Try uninstalling the apps you installed after which the problem started. :)

Welcome to Android Forums.

You are aware I assume that your phone has 7 volume controls and they can be changed manually or by an app ... right?

One of them is Ringer.

My ASSUMPTION is that either you changed it to 0 without knowing it or you ran an app that did. It would remain at 0 until someone or something changed it.

FWIW ... I think the volume controls are the most complicated and misunderstood aspect of un-root-ed Android devices.

This issue, for me, and I believe for the other person, is not that the ringer is not working. It is that the phone is not receiving the call. Even if the ringer is off, there is some indication that a call is being received. We seem to be missing this for SOME, not all calls.

well mine just did this again. I have replaced the phone since the upgrade and I added a app insync { IN} a few days ago. . I have deleted the app and rebooted the phone it"s working now. Next ill pull out the sim card and reinstall if this doesn't continue to work. Going to clear cache now just because I can,

dear,
same issues here on a moto X gen 2 sold in europe.
Motorola technical support has been playing games with me for several months denying these problems lying this problems existed and blaming my mobile operator.. i changed sim cards twice and problem always reoccurs.. intermittent some calls go after two calls heard by the ringer straight to voicemail.
The Motorola phone doesn't even ring.. tried sim cards in other smartphones never had any issues.
I am not a verizon user so must be a manufacturer defect by motorola they are trying to hide.
This was the top of the range phone i bought which has been affected.
Motorola support is not willing to offer any solution, they are dragging the case on and on.. gainin time.
any advise would be welcome!

Problem has occurred on my Droid Turbo a couple of times now. Had it on Priority setting once, took it off, and it had the problem again. Could NOT figure it out. Used land line here at home to call it. Got no ring, but it did vibrate AND my Fitbit Surge watch vibrated indicating a call was coming in. Turned the phone off and back on again, and now getting it to ring on incoming calls. It's working now, but it's NOT FIXED.

We returned our phone for a refund, the dealer was willing to do so.. we bought a samsung.. never had any issues since with same sim card etc etc..

We had this problem on our Droid Turbo. Was just about to toss it. I got into settings and discovered that somehow "HD Voice" had gotten set. Not sure how but in any case. turning that off allowed our phone to ring on incoming calls again. Curiously enough, the phone had been ringing periodically depending on part of the country we were in. Did not relate that at first but may have some bearing on the problem.

TRY THIS: Hit the Volume up button, notice that under the volume bar there are three icons. One is to allow no interruptions, one for priority only, and the last one allows all notifications. The one for priority is most likely highlighted, tap the "All" button, and now it should always work.

I checked the phone and it is set to "all".

Check it out! I asked the question a different way. How do I send calls to voicemail? You can enable or disable this function. Let me know if this works!

Permanent Solution:
Try to follow the very simple instructions in this video

After searching the net for several months to get this intriguing issue solved properly I finally found a straightforward solution which takes less than 30 seconds to complete. My Android 6 phone turned me crazy by missing almost most of my calls when I always notice too late that it has turned itself into silent mode. All other notifications work fine but the phone ringer is set to silent. I had to restart the phone in order to fix this issue, nothing else could have fixed the ringer volume although the sound profile is set to outdoor. This video was great because since I followed it I never had this problem again.
Please post to other users if your problem was solved or not.
