Root Droid with WinMo 6.5

a lot of you are going to probably say wtf and ask why i'd want to do this but...

does anyone know of a way to install windows mobile 6.5 onto the droid sd card and boot from there or partition the internal memory to dual boot?

i know you can install android flavors onto a winmo phone and dual boot but can you do the opposite?

thanks

You would need a SBF file for a WinMo Motorola that has a touchscreen, and that would get you started. Problem is what WinMo touchscreen phones does Moto make?

Good question I can't think of any off hand... Hey can't you use your matrix like brain to fine one or two?!? :P

despite the fact that you said not to

Why would you want this? It would run bad and be a real hack job. There is no way you would get complete functionality unless there was a big push and lots of people wanting this and lots of devs working on it.

hmm... guess the short answer is no but the long answer is yes.

i was just hoping there was an executable file or something similar to what XDA Dev has for WinMo 6.5 phones to dual boot with android. oh well.

why would i do this? i got bored with a stock droid after a few months. then i rooted. now i'm bored with a rooted droid. just want to do something different without buying another new phone. looks like its craigslist/cellphones time. :(

not a particularly helpful answer there, inssane....

TBH, installing WinMo is not going to be easy at all - until someone figures out a way to write WinMo drivers for the hardware in the DROID.

That being said, the *good* news is that you can at least find the Android Drivers for most of the devices (I say most b/c we still don't have native USB nor the FM Radio...) in Android, so if you know some really good WinMo devs, then you can get them a copy of a ROM to start with.

Since CP already pointed you to the Motorola touchscreen device running WinMo, you're ahead of the game already.
