Droid X being replaced with X2

Hopefully this will be my last post in this subject. The phone I got today was a brand new DX. Not a DX2 like others (again, not what I was trying for ...just wanted a working DX), but a brand new DX is cool by me. I remember reading that they dropped internal storage to 2GB, but mine has 8GB, so I guess they have them in stock still. Pretty much an fyi!

Internal memory didn't drop, the size of the sd card dropped.

Do you have to pay the insurance deductible on these ($90 I think), or do they consider this kind of stuff under warranty? I am having problems with restarts and 3g connectivity, as well, but if I have to pay that money to get a replacement, I might as well wait until March to upgrade.

Just in case anyone was wondering, they are replacing DXs with DXs. I got my replacement DX today. Of course, it doesn't work. Will not even boot up, and I can't get it into the bootloader to sbf it. Its going back. Verizon were very apologetic, and they are sending me out another DX that I will get tomorrow. Since I was trying to replace my DX (and its 40+ reboots a day) for a DX, the fact that they are replacing DXs with DXs is cool for me. Now, hopefully I can get a certified like new to actually work...
So they don't have any replacements at the stores?

I am on my 2nd replacement phone (3rd phone including the orginal that i bought) and i am in the midwest and just got my 2nd replacement yesterday and its a DROID X so i think its at their choice what they send ya and if they have any in their warehouse where ever their closest to you is.........

I must be reading a different post than you. No where in my post did I say anything about committing any type of fraud.

I have had the X2 less than one week, and it can barely go more than 10 hours before it needs to be charged. My last X that I had could go two days between charges. If the X2 has problems, I will get it replaced and not put up with the problems as long as I did with the previous Xs I owned.
I may even try to go through a couple of X2s before then if I can ;)

I think that's pretty clear.

I called Verizon yesterday because of a problem that I was having with my Droid X. The camera button wouldn't work.

The person waiting on me gave me a choice to replace my Droid X with another Droid X or to replace it with a Droid X2. It makes no sense, but they would replace a Droid X with a non functional camera button for a Droid X2 with no camera button. I couldn't believe it. ( I really could care less about the camera button since I so rarely use the camera anyway. I was calling Verizon to see if the latest Gingerbread upgrade might have deactivated the camera button. They said no and asked if I wanted to replace my defective X. )

Well, for me it was a no brainer. I'll take the X2 with the Dual Core processor. She told me that as long as I have insurance, the X2 replacement will be under warranty. Otherwise it would be only 90 days. My original Droid X had a year's warranty which is nearly over. What I didn't know is that there would be no co-pay in the event of a problem with the replacement phone, as long as I continue to carry the insurance. Only in the event of a lost a phone, do you pay $100 for a replacement. That was good news.

I am a bit concerned about some of complaints of pixellation of the X2's screen. Still, it is supposed to have higher resolution. A YouTube side by side comparison showed a sharper X2 screen. So, I am not sure why some people are complaining about the X2's screen. Hopefully, there isn't a lot of sample variation.

looks like he was making a joke about flaky (replacement) phones

You are correct. I have had nothing but problems with the X. My X2's battery life sucks. On my X I was able to charge it every other night and it was ok. With the X2, I am only getting about 10 - 12 hours of use, and by use I mean checking my e-mail when I get one and sending about 10 text messages, and a few phone calls.
