Wow, is the video camera/camera of the Droid X HORRIBLE. Videos are VERY GRAINY, Pictures are blurry, I have tried every setting possible, I am on 8MP for camera and 720p for hd. Any chance there is a way to fix it???? I have seen other peoples video and they are MUCH better than mines. And people said the Droid 1 camera was bad (which I had) this is awful.

When I first got my phone The video was grainy, but I recently took another video and it was great....My camera on my X takes great pics:

Maybe that will happen to me? I just got the phone today...my Droid was blurry as well the first few days so maybe "over time" it will correct itself

Mine was taking poor quality pics inside with the flash and good.out.side. i finally realized that my rubber case was interfering with the flash and deflecting it back across the lens somehow and blurring and streaking the picture. I took the case off and the quality improved. I modified (cut out) the opening and made it larger and it helped alot.

Were the videos you took in low-light conditions?

I think the Dx just tends to be grainy when it is dim. It is much better when it is brighter.

its really the video camera mostly its VERY, VERY Grainy in Well-Lit places. I do not know what to do, any tricks to fix it? I have it all on default setting 720 p etc.

The pics on mine look ok, but it is a cell phone so what do you expect. My DSLR's are for taking real pics, so.... yeah.

Picture and video look fine to me. They don't seem to be any different from other videos or pictures that I've seen.

Remember that this is still a cellphone. You aren't going to get SONY HD camcorder-like results from it.

Wow considering this is 720 P I would expect something better than my Droid's 1 video camera, somehow this is slightly worse, whatever, I guess the X has been somewhat of a dissapointment (got it as a replacement for the Droid), its a good phone but a tad bit of an upgrade of the Droid 1.

720p refers to the resolution alone. It is 1280x720. The ads and whatnot don't mention any technical specifications of the actual quality of the picture.

The picture should not be worse than an original Droid. If it appears that it is, then something is either wrong, or you're imagining things.

Sorry to hear that you're not happy with the device. Try to make the best of it. It really looks like a great phone. Mine was just shipped earlier this evening and should arrive tomorrow. Thanks for posting your results and experience.

I find it's easy to touch the lens on the camera so you might want to make sure that's clean. (Use a soft cloth or microfiber.)

Also, you don't want a screen protector film on the camera lens. I think I read someone had done that.

yeah i was upset with some of the pics but it cleaning the lens area and making sure there are no smudges helps alot. also just depends on lighting conditions. If you are outdoors you will get pretty good shots in the daytime. but indoors and low light your pics will be not as great.

The DX camera is overrated. It's ok.. not bad, not good. Quality is just under the point & shoot Canon I have.
