Accessories Droid X Defender Case now in stock on Otterbox website..

LOL I wouldn't think it would take a full 72 but you never know. Considering it just went up for sale, I'm sure they're busy trying to fill orders and get these out the door. Who knows, maybe they just haven't updated their computer systems yet.

I do hate waiting though...it's no fun :p

I found the defender "on sale" for 44.95 from 59.95  on Amazon. Nothing like integrity in business, huh?

Hmmmm... I noticed the Microsoft Kinects jumped from 150 to 200 from this weekend to today...

Off topic, I know, but still...
neither of those are from amazon. those are prices from third parties selling THROUGH amazon. don't knock amazon, they have the top 5% of prices on almost everything they sell. plus no tax and free 2-day prime shipping! ok back on topic....anyone else's order say shipped?

I checked my order (ordered Monday) and apparently missed the same day processing by 8min.... Just got a charge receipt today (Wednesday) and the status switched to "shipped"

looks like I loose the "if i order it on Monday it will be here by Friday game" yet again ..

Please post pics and a review for those who have ordered. Im on the fence between Seidio and Otterbox.

My Commuter arrived today so I'll get it once I get home from work. I never received a tracking number. But anyone else who ordered on Monday may get theirs today as well.

Yea i am with you all... Who all stuck with fedex shipping? I ended up going with USPS Priority mainly because they run 6 days a week and in early mornings lol Hopefully tomm is the day

My Commuter case came in! Overall, I'm extremely impressed. The quality is excellent, and the fit is, as far as I can tell, perfect. It is not bulky at all and still slides in and out of my pocket very easily. The only gripe I have is with the top lip of the polycarbonate shell (over the earpiece). It has a somewhat sharp edge and while it probably won't cut you, it doesn't feel too go sometimes scraping against your ear. Aside from that one gripe (which probably won't be an issue for most people), the case is perfect. At first I couldn't decide whether to get the Commuter or the Impact (main deciding factor was bulkiness), but I finally went with the Commuter, and I couldn't be happier with my decision!

Here's some pictures from my droid x of the Commuter Case. I took some pictures with it on but had to use a bad camera so they are not that clear so i didn't upload them.

With the Commuter case, one small disappointment for me is that the pictures on the Otterbox website make the front look like the same smooth (somewhat reflective) plastic as the back, including the front buttons. I knew the case came with a silicon sleeve, but I thought the outer shell covered the front as well as the back because of those pictures. In reality, the front is just part of the silicone sleeve, so it's a dull, rubbery look. It doesn't look like the smooth/reflective black plastic in their pictures. There is NO shine whatsoever on any of the rubber section (unless maybe you oil it up or something).

Also, on the actual case, there's a seam that runs along the edges -- it looks like a joint between the front and back of the case (although I think it's just part of the mold because it's in both the silicone sleeve and the plastic shell). But in the pictures they smoothed that out so you can't see it.

While this isn't a deal-breaker, the case looks a little cheaper than represented IMO. They definitely spruced up the pics a bit. Compare with my pictures below.

Other than that, it's a nice case. The side buttons are as easy to press as without the case (but the ones below the screen are a little harder). And my thumb isn't flush with the screen whenever I need to slide it along the edges with the case on. That's not really a problem, it just requires a slight adjustment because it's noticeable at first. I didn't notice any sharpness to the top edge as cmathis mentioned.

The case adds to the "solid" feel and classy look of the phone. Only the rubbery front detracts from that somewhat compared with their advertisement. 4 stars out of 5 for what I perceive to be a slight misrepresentation there, but still a nice case.

These aren't the best photos -- my batteries died before I could get more angles, and the ones I took didn't turn out well:

a couple notes I can give for anyone interested in the commuter:
1) the fit is probably a 9.5/10. The plastic lines up really well but takes a tiny bit of maneuvering to get it really snug.
2) the port covers seem kinda loose at first but they actually plug in well. 8/10
3) the silicone is pretty thin. this can be good or bad. good for me because i wanted to keep the thickness to a minimum. it's not bulky, but the added thickness is a little noticeable in the hand.
4) weighs next to nothing 10/10. for some reason the TPU cases made the phone feel a little heavier. this case is very light..

any other questions let me know!

I JUST NOW got a credit card receipt and tracking number .... they didnt process it until Wed the 17 when i ordered Mon the 15...so much for having it get here before I leave the state for the week...

Alright, here are some pics of the Defender case. The last pic is to show the size when compared to the Body Glove rubberized case.

Here again with the Defender, both the back of the case and the front where the buttons are, etc, appear to be smooth, solid (molded) plastic with a sharp, chisled look to it on the Otterbox website -- but they're clearly part of the dull rubber/silicone on the actual case from your pics.

I had no idea the silicone "sleeve" would fit over the skeleton like that from their pictures. Maybe it's just me, though.

Interesting about the Defender....

I thought the outside would be the hard exoskeleton, not the inside. I've got the Body Glove case now, and it's kind of a pain to pull out of my pocket because it so "grippy". I can only imagine that the Defender will be even worse, especially because of those two small tabs mid-way down on both sides (I assume those are for the holster).

The Body Glove case is OK, but I really don't like that the buttons and plugs are exposed. This would be solved with the Commuter case, but I would indeed give up some protection compared to the Defender.

I guess I'll have to wait for them to arrive at a local store, then try each model out before buying....
