Droid X does not have FM radio- EPIC fail!

Well, that is about the only negative I can think of...... Oh yeah, it does not have a keyboard, either ;)

May be a tad big, but very nice device :)

One thing that our EVO friends touted, but could not back up (hidef video) IS possible with the X. The 45nm chipset makes a huge difference in regards to heat output. How practical it is would be another story, but still- nice device.

Is the microsd blocked by the battery on the X? I hate that.

added:

Perhaps a better way to word it for the hidef is QUALITY hidef. EVO, like all other devices that use the snapdragon, sux for hidef output, due to the 65nm chipset not handling the heat well.

It has an FM radio.

EDIT: have a look for yourself

It does have an FM radio? Well then, that about sums it up :)

How about the microsd? Is it blocked behind the battery?? Come on, I need something to be negative about. Help me out here!

Most early reviewers are saying it's hardly noticeable. The guy at Gizmodo said it was actually pretty useful for getting the phone out of your pocket, since the rest of it was so thin.

From what I can see, it seems to be great for one handed operation in portrait since you can rest your fingers into that little curve between the hump and the rest of the phone, and it will keep it from sliding down your hand.

Who listens to the radio anymore it sucks! Sirius XM satellite dominates FM radio!

+1

i have had phones and mp3 players for years that get fm radio, other than seeing if it works the first day i have never used it again... sirius rules though, if only it didn't burn through the battery.

It could be awesome though, since by including it, they wrote the modules for the FM chip.

So once we get root, perhaps the developers can modify it to do FM transmit.

Not only that, I have the Evo and almost every time I hold it up, my index finger touches the camera lens. Most of my friends commented the same thing when they held it for the first time, so it's good this lens is out of the way.

1. Why would anyone listen to FM when we have Slacker/Pandora or whatever other streaming service and XM/Sirius if you want those so you have to listen to ads and can't skip songs

2. No Keyboard = HUGE +++++++, I wouldn't even consider it if it had a keyboard!!

1. I don't know maybe not everyone listens to radio just for the songs. Some people like listening to certain stations and enjoy certain programs on those stations.
2. +99999, if you need keyboard on a 4.3 inch screen, you need to go back to the 90's.

^Yes most definitely about the certain programs.

I will love the FM radio until Froyo comes. Radiotime.com is my drug of choice to catch my local morning & evening shows. No Flashy, No worky....

I only listen to the radio to listen to the football games that I attend. I need to hear what the commentators are saying. Since I only go to 1-2 games a year, then I'll prolly be using it 1-2 times a year. Still nice to know it's there.

RadioTime is one of my favorite apps, I use it everyday listening to Mike & Mike in the Morning. I don't really care about have the FM on the X as long as I have RadioTime.

Yea radiotime is nice....the sad thing is, the website, with Froyo + Flash picks up more stations than the app.

Hopefully the app just needs to be updated for 2.2. If not, I will be using my browser alot...

in other news, FM Radio, in and of itself, it an Epic Fail. I will be downloading the Sirius Radio app asap when I receive mine.
