Root Droid X Overclock vs Quick Clock Battery usage

Over the past few days i've noticed something rather odd...

I recently switched from QuickClock to Droid X Overclock by jrummy for my overclocking duties. I like the new app, but it seems to be using a lot of battery

While my phone has been getting great battery life (after a day of uptime i usually have at least 50% of battery left)...Droid Overclock has been using CPU, while I never remember Quick Clock to do that....

for instance..right now...

since unplugged: 1 day 45m 8s
Battery Left: 60%

Top three "users" are Display, Phone Idle, Cell Standby...

but 4th is Droid Overclock: 14% and when you click on it it says its CPU usage total is 1h 25m 48s

is this normal? is it because i have the widget running and its monitoring temp?

My phone's been up for 11 hours and it doesn't even show in the usage, but I didn't open it since charging either. Try charging your phone, reboot, then unplug from the charger and see if it still shows.

If you use the preset vsels in jrummy's app, they are set higher than what you will get in the QuickClock app. The quickclock app finds the lowest stable vsel. For me is 15. In jrummy's app the ULV is more than twice that. The higher the vsel the more resources consumed.

I use QC to determine my setting, then set them up in JR' OC. I also have the widget showing my temp and settings, but rarely see it in my battery usage. I think I saw 4% once.

i don't use the preset vsels....i use QuickClock to calculate them and then inserted them into jrummy's app...

something has to be up then...

I just use an OC Kernel with Voltage Control. Battery life is great. The things you mentioned Display and such are always on the top of the list for me.

I have seen similar things in my battery usage. Idk what makes the difference. Sometimes it well be way more than everything else amd some times it isn't even there.
