Root Droid X "rooting"

Google or search the forum for Z4 Root its an app you download and once you have it you literally 1 click away from root access...

I just clicked the link at the bottom of that post then xda asked me to sign in as soon as I logged in the file began downloading (I can check DL status up in the status bar on my phone) when it finished I clicked the notification (again in my status bar) and the app began installing just like any other app..

Do you have your settings set up to accept non market (unknown) apps?

no problems with z4 here...

if you are going to sideload the app (non market app loading) do this>
settings>applications>mark check box for unkown sources.

Total noob question..... I downloader z4 and it is my SD card. I checked the box to allow unknown sources and still do not see it. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

under settings applications check the box for install non market apps or whatever it says,
then in developement check usb debugging if not already
back out
go to Files
Phone
go to the bottom and it should be there at the very bottom if you did z4root hit it and hit install and just wait
(mine never worked i had to get visionary)

well im on these forums during work and at home, i like to help people out so i hope he would thank you as well, since you told him how to do the install from non market sources

im just glad im no longer the biggest noob lol there are somethings that i have done that i can help share yay!!

I could not successfully download from the XDA link. I typed the Softpedia link into my browser, downloaded it. I opened it, ran it and successfully rooted on the first time! Thanks for the link. I had tried other links before as well as the XDA link without success.

This is the greatest thing about this site. Noobs come on here looking for answers to questions. They get those answers, and along the way they learn a thing or two about how this stuff works. Over time the noob transforms into a veteran before our eyes. Then he gets to help the next noob that comes along that has the same question that he had when he got here.

It's a circle of life of sorts. And the willingness of others to help you out when you first get here with your questions is what compells you to stick around and give back to the community when you can. What a great system, born of the 'open' nature that Google intended Android to be built upon.
