The factory reset goes back to before the update, so I doubt that'd help. Worth a try I guess. ... well not for me, but maybe others. I have done way to much customizing to reset now. :(

No it doesn't. It just remove all the files from your data and cache folders (I believe it is those two) where all your installed apps and settings are stored. The update doesn't touch those folders.

I don't believe it touches your SD card.

i updated mine and now i cant get my phone to turn on! i did a factory reset. still nothing. i WASNT rooted or anything. it will only load to the moto logo and wont go past . any ideas?

Maybe take it into verizon and see if they can do anything. I know with the Evo ota that they pushed at first some phones were getting bricked so maybe that happened to yours also

I have the same exact problem, did you figure out how to fix it?
Nope..sorry...I called CS Tech support and told them wht had happened and they tried getting me to take it to a store after a hard reset wouldnt do anything..but turn my screen black and now nothing happen(thinking dead battery and wont charge).

when I explained why I would never go to the store here they ordered me a replacement. That I will get either on or by the 27th or the 3rd depending on who I talk to

never got mine going VZW is sending me a replacement. Glad to hear I am not the only one this OTA killed. I was worried I did something wrong.

I had the same problem. My replacement will be here on the third. Tech support lady was like "what update are you referring to? We dont know anything about an update neing pushed to the phone."

mine told me the same exact thing... I told her to get on any andriod forum and look for the x forum and it was a sticky on most ...I understand they work off trouble shoot list..what concerns me is that it seems like these phone companies arent doing a lot of real world testing prior to pushing out devices..the x is the last I buy on release day.

looks like NTK was wrong..!!!!!!

It's actually kind of "Funny" how you came right out the gates on your second post, accusing a very trusted & senior member of being wrong..... Especially in such large bold print.

I Remember NKT from the DInc forums before the DInc came out. He was always one of the first to "leak" accurate info to us, and has always been courtious and respectful to everyone.... He especially didn't deserve that comment.
