Help Droid X text problem

When i go into my text (using handcent and the default texting), I select the text box, my keyboard populates. When i go to type my message, the first word or two will appear, then the cursor will freeze, then i will be kicked out of the input message screen and back into the text thread (screen it is on before i select the box to type my text).

This is the best way I can describe my issue. One thing of note, if i go to the market and try to "search", I do not get this issue and everything works fine.

Help Please ! :(

Settings>>Applications>>Manage Applications>>All>>Multi Touch Keyboard>>Clear Data>>Ok

no problem!...have had this issue twice since installing the first Gingerbread leak...now i just make it a habit of clearing the keyboard data every once and awhile as a precaution...
 
Thank You VERY VERY MUCH!!!!! Was just about to bring my X to the store and decided to search "Frozen Keyboard". Thanks again!!!
 
Are there other applications I should be doing this same process with? Not so much downloaded things or apps-apps, but the apps that are more just part of the phone like this?
 
Had the same problem, and verizon sent me a new phone last time, and i was all mad cause I had just gotten it exactly the way i wanted it... solved it! Thanks so much!!
 
Thanks!!!! This issue was driving me crazy for the past week. It would get better for a few minutes after a battery pull but then would go right back to kicking me out of the messaging bubble and freezing. Clearing the Data for the Multi Touch Keyboard solved the issue :) !! Thanks again.

Go for it next time. They're surprisingly durable. I bend, hit and throw mine all the time. :D

thank you !!!!! You just made my life so much easier! This information i should of lqqked for a long time ago. This is the only thing that has worked i tried your suggestion with the above instructions how to fix my tex-ting freezing.. And to my surprise
it actually worked .......

So thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for posting this questions . Verizon just keeps sending me new phones.

I have a DROID 2. had to keep calling Verizon tech support and they just kept sending me new phones. Thank you so much. Maybe they need you to teach them how to troubleshoot.:)
