Droid X Vs. Incredible

I agree I will def not be changing phones anytime soon. Ive had many different phones and this one by far is the best, and like everything else something newer always comes out so you can't go off that

After having a Moto phone and now HTC, I will never go back to a Moto. They are brain dead, such as still having that pathetic side swipe as stock and nothing works reliably to get rid of it. Everything on the HTC phone design is superior.

wow....just rooted my eris and installed the new xtrsense rom....it now rocks and very very fast...wireless teathering is awesome compared to pdanet I used with usb cable, flash 10.1 works and able to delete the bloat software like mp3 store, etc....ability to overclock and add rooted software from market is great....I was thinking about using upgrade for DX or DINC but now love my eris ....also with the cach2cash with the new rom I now have 20 plus apps installed and still over 100mb of storage on my phone, no need to use SD card for app storage....battery life also improved, this is the software the eris should have had at release....

Well, that came out of left field.

LOL......my wife just got the DX as it is her first smart phone, but she feels it is just too big and is returning it for either the Samsung Fascinate or DINC...I'm urging her to switch to the DINC as I know I can root it and upgrade it to make it so much better since it is a HTC phone like the eris, Samsung not sure what the root possibilites out there yet....only negative regards to DINC I have heard is battery life but sure that can be iimproved with a root and xtrsense rom.....of course I could probably go on ebay and get an eris for peanuts but I think she wants the latest as I have had my eris since last November.....

In my opinion, the complaints over battery life are greatly exaggerated. I find it to be ccompletely average for a smartphone. I'm not saying that it's great or anything, but it is around the same that I had with the storm 2 I came from. Also, I don't think that they have made an xtrsense rom for incredible yet, but you should give frankenrom a try. Imho, it is the best sense based rom out there.

When I got my Incredible back, it was like..."welcome home son, nice to see you, don't worry, my charge cord is handy", it felt great.

This post just made my day.

As for my opinion, I took one look at the Droid X and had to double-take.

Is that a Vespa license plate? ...No? That's a phone. Huh. BIG ASS PHONE!

I goofed around with it a little, and honestly wasn't impressed. I love the speed and style my Incredible (I just typed DINC, but felt like an idiot, so just typed out the whole word instead) offers. I love its speed and HTC just knows how to make a damn good phone.

I have big manly hands despite being a woman, and the size of the Incredible is just fine for me. I felt like I should have tried to bludgeon someone with the X because of its sheer size. Ug smash!

I'll stick with my Incredible until I find out what this is:
HTC's dual-mode CDMA / GSM Android slider hits the FCC, decked out in shades of Verizon -- Engadget

'Cause whatever it is.... I want it.

Would have been PERFECT if not for the Keyboard. I think im one of the few people that actually see a physical keyboard as a con. I dunno, I never took to them and they just add a little too much thickness and unneeded moving parts.

thanks...I'll check out the frankenrom but tried the INC in the VZ store for my wife and it is smoking fast already.....anyone tried the extended life batteries and if they make a difference?

Probably not the place to ask but has anyone gone from the Incredible to the X then back to the Incredible?

I am struggling with the size of the X.

I haven't, but there have been posts about people doing as such. Do you have specific concerns about switching back? or just looking to see if others have?

i plan on upgrading to the 4.3 droid version of the incredible. i can palm a basketball so the size shouldn't affect me.

I had the HTC extended battery (2150 mAh) and easily got 20 hours of moderate use. I also have the Seidio 3500 mAh and could get 28-36 hours.

Keep in mind that, with the stock battery, I am getting far less than what others are getting (9-12 hours), so I would expect that rate of drain to be the same for my extended batteries, despite my positive experiences with the extended batteries.

Meaning, if you're one of the few that's getting over 16 hours with the stock battery alone, the extended battery should faire even better for you than it did for me.

Also, it doesn't help that my house is literally the only dead spot in the neighborhood for service; I routinely get 1 or 0 bars (but I can still connect) and I measured my dBm at something like -96 to -105. That's a huge toll on battery life, so if you get great reception in the area where you'll be the majority of the day, you should get great battery life relative to my experiences.

The Incredible is really an amazing phone. Way better than the Droid X in my opinion, plus the active developer community for the phone is practically unmatched save for a few other phones that have been out longer.

i have both the DX and the INC. the incredible is my personal phone and my work phne is a DX. so i use both quite a bit on a daily basis. first thing the DX is not to big, it will seem that way for the first day then you won't notice. the bigger screen on the DX does make it hard switching to the incredible, however on the flip side using the Inc then going back the X frustrates me. i love the AMOLED screen and X looks so bland. however the biggest thing, motorola. they made some great feeling hardware in the X but they should have put vanilla android on it because motorola SUCKS at software. the inc is so butter smooth in the interface the brief instances of lag on the DX is annoying after never running across it on the incredible. about the only negative about the inc is my battery(stock) was awsome under 2.1 under 2.2 it is way worse, no new apps or anything either. if i lost both phones and could only get 1 back, i would take the inc because of the gorgous screen, htc and sense feels like it is light years more polished than motorola and their crappy software. the X though feels great and the hardware is awsome (doesn't get fingerprints like the inc). the perfect phone would be a 4.3 amoled screen with htc software in the X casing (but with touch buttons not hardware).

agree....don't like the physical keyboard.....love swype as I am blazing fast now even with one thumb, amazing technology....also love the amoled screens compared to X, thoughts on the new Samsung Fascinate, love the screen but perplexed with all the love for bing, etc and if it will be rootable/romed?

It was rooted on launch day :)

EDIT: The Fascinate that is.

LoL, I cant believe how bad the battery life is on the Dx so far. Are you telling me the Dinc's battery life is worse than the Dx's? Please say it aint so. I'm almost ready to trade the Dx for the Dinc.

can you root a DX now? if so.. i think that might help with battery life. It helped out my INC a lot. I don't think DX or INC battery life is any better then the other.. they both are pretty mehhh.. imo

I went from 7 months of the Incredible to the DX recently. Battery has been 6's for me so far and I was rooted on both. Gotta say the DX is the better hardware and Incredible has the better UI. UI can be changed ;)

How did you have a phone that's been out 5 months and a week for 7 months?
