Droid X Vs. Incredible

Sense 100% destroys blur (though using another launcher seems to clear that up). I am missing the X screen size (and I think its quite a bit sharper, but might be because it's larger).

X's build quality is for sure more solid, but I like being able to put the INC in a case and not having it be too huge. The odd form factor is what killed the X for me. Im still not quite sold I'm going to stick with the INC. The screen isn't quite as bright as the X either.

Few little things from blur that I miss also. The blur gallery was quite nice and opening contacts the text message Icon is next to the type of number (on the INC you need to look at the number to see which one is the cell phone).

So im switching to verizon and im looking at two phones in particular, the DX and the Droid Incredible, im leaning torwards the Droid incredible but can anyone give me the pros and cons of the Droid incredible so i know what to expect (good and bad) thanks guys :)

I think I would have to say, if you don't mind the size of the X, it's certainly the better phone. A ROM or at least just a luncher will speed it up.

There is also no Facebook integration for sending a message through the contact list. Sending a text message from a contact list also requires you spot check the number to see which one is a mobile number.

Unfortunately for me it was just too dang big and the INC feels great in my hand and pocket. I just hope it sees some updates.

So I've been wanting to replace my wife's Eris (hate it), and up to this point have been pretty set on finding a used Incredible to replace it with (VERY happy with mine for over a year).

What I've been noticing on places like Craigslist though, is that I can pick up a used Droid-X for the same price.

Worth picking up the X?

Yeah, that's why I posted here instead of the X forum, because everyone over there would call me names for having an Incredible. :P

I just wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with both.

My thinking is that I'd keep my Incredible since it's pretty abused (and rooted), and give the Droid X to the wife.

just me two cents worth. I have both phones, with the X currently activated. I thought I was getting better battery life until yesterday when I had to use GPS for Navigation almost all day. I don't keep good stats, but the battery icon was "yellow" after about 6 hours. Also, it did not appear to be charging with the car charger and kept getting a popup message saying something like "disconnect the charger to reduce energy consumption" or something like that. Right now, the only thing i LIKE about the X is it's size, which is the primary reason I bought it. Never thought I'd say this, but I think I miss Sense :(.
Also, I can't do the ##778 to get free hotspot with the X and that may be a deal breaker in favor of the incredible.
sorry for the long post, but I appreciate this thread!

Does ##778 still work? Do you have to be rooted?

Well I've had both and I'm kinda torn. Sense is much better than blur. I don't have the dinc rooted yet and it works as smoothly as my dx does rooted with liberty 1.5, which by the way is the best dx rom and is completely customizable. The size of the dx I got used to but now it's funny cause the dinc fits in my hand better but is a lil awkward cause it feels so tiny. I played games, searched internet, and used GPS and it fits everything to it's screen just like the dx did. But I don't have to stretch my leg completely out to get it outta my pocket like the dx. Rooted, running liberty 1.5, underclocked/undervolted, I got 23 hours of use according to "battery left", that was with regular texting, about 1.5 hours web surfing and games and maybe a call or so. Of yeah 1850mah extended battery. I'll rooted the dinc and get rid of some bloat and see what kinda battery life I get.

But both are great phones, pros and cons for both. Most of the time it comes down to size. But I wouldn't recommend getting either, the dx 2 and the dinc 2 should be coming out 2nd quarter hopefully but may be pushed to 3rd quarter. Dinc 2 should be 4G but it's mixed whether or not the dx 2 will be 4G or not. Pretty dumb for it not to be IMO. But with both dx 2 and dinc 2 they should be blending things we want on them.

Think we are kind of biased to the incredible here....droid x is too big in my opinion, and has the locked bootloader.

Yeah it can feel too big at first. I wear Med/large gloves, size 9, so my hands aren't huge but their not huge either and I got used to it's size.

Locked bootloader isn't that big of a deal. Root and rom takes care of everything. Yeah it sucks that it voids the warranty doing that but it's sooo easy to go back to stock and almost impossible to brick thanks to the people in the dx forums here.
