Root Droid X Widgets and Apps?

Yeah, the Sense widgets have always been popular. Sense is probably the most refined custom UI. People actually LIKE it. You almost never come across anyone that wants anything from the original Blur. Haha, you guys remember what happened to the guy that posted in here asking about a Blur ROM, right? ;)

that was one of the best threads of all time

Shoot I will do this.....
1)Get the Droid X
2)Get a Launcher like ADW and overwrite the regular (Blur-Like interface)
3)Use some of the Blur-Like widgets on ADW or Launcher Pro (Preferably ADW) lol

I've had the Eris before, and was allowed to do this.....so that's what I'd do..... I'd basically be buying the Droid X for hardware purposes

W/o straying too far off-topic, what's the prob people have w/ Blur and even HTC Sense? Do they get in the way of customization us root users have come to enjoy? I ask that last question b/c I realize that the majority of normal, everyday cell users probably welcome it. I've tinkered w/ Sense on my g/f's Droid Inc, and it's kinda nice. Mostly b/c of a few widgets that are specific to Sense that I'd really love to have on my Droid.

I don't think it is so much that it gets in the way of root users, but it IS getting in the way of normal users. Phones that have Blur on them still can not get the update to 2.1 because Blur has to be updated by Moto to run on it (from the reviews what is running on the X will not cause this problem so that is a good thing). The same thing is happening with some of the older phones that run Sense (although it isn't as bad from what I hear)...

For me as someone who is rooted, it is all about my personal preference... I just prefer the look of stock Android and don't want all that UI stuff pre-installed. If I do there is always a theme or a ROM that I can get to make pretty or get the widgets :)

Yep, I like Blurs or whatever it is widgets.....how you can resize them and what not. As for Sense, when i had the Eris, it took a while to get an update. Android 2.1 was already out, but just like Ska.t73 said....they gotta update the UI, unless you just want your phone Vanilla'd down lol
