Root DroidX 2.2.1 (Blur Versions 2.3.320) now available in the TBH app

From what everyone is saying over at MyDroidWorld... it seems to be a dev release considering some of the apps that are packaged with it. I'm waiting... I seriously can't stand a gray status bar... so until someone throws out a black bar for it... I'm out... don't care if it is somehow faster and better....

Yeah a lot of discussion over at MyDroidWorld. Seems to be some rooting issues. I am gonna keep up with that thread before installing. I am liking APEX and Rubix too much to risk not having them with 2.2.1.

Seems now the big problem with it is no mp3 or video support. Gives a "file not playable" error. Huge dealbreaker for me.... my X is my mp3 and mp4 player as well.

Yea there are some strange apps with it like ACR, MotoCall, MotoBlur Debug Client, and Task Manager. I havent had much time to play with it yet but so far it doesnt seem much different than 2.3.15 but this is just a small update so I wouldnt expect much change.

I'm just hoping they reduce the number of kernel panics.

While they aren't a huge problem for me, I did have one reboot while I was using Google Nav in the middle of traffic while I was on my way to catch a plane in a strange city. The phone just about went out the window.

Only saving grace was that ApeX takes less than half as long to boot as the stock install so I was back up and running quickly. But I've had the same nav-causing-reboot issue with the stock setup, so ApeX wasn't causing it.

kudos to p three!I tried it. There's no music or video, so I'll wait, for now. Thank's for your work, p3!

all you need to do is edit the build.prop. make the first stagefright line =true, and it works. other than that, it seems to be working flawlessly.

Can someone check if there is an option to disable the lock screen in the settings? I'm wondering if they are working on adding that option back in since people who had it turned off originally can no longer get their lock screens back after the update.

ok.. Did a
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Mount /System
Format /System
install zip from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
Navigate to teamblackhat folder
select DX-2.3.320-Deodex.... file
then selected isntall..

The bar goes across the bottom and says it is installing. (it's red and moving about halfway across, then jumped to it saying it was done and complete.)

backed out and "rebooted".

and BAM... Stuck at M. For about 1 minute this time.
now it is booting to

Thanks GrandMasterB...

Steven , did you try this and it worked or are you on to something else by now?

GMB

I didn't try it. No. I like my speed and blurlessness too much. I guess I loaded it in more out of curiosity than desire for it. I don't expect I'll start using the 2.2.1 until people begin to write roms/themes for it.

However, I am lurking around here looking for something new to try out. Thinking of maybe taking a look at RubiX 1.6. Post whore, Rom/theme whore. I don't care what people think of me. ;)

Have a good day, my friend. :)

I'm going to try it out now. I loaded it before but the lack of music killed it for me. I'm interested in wifi performance now.
