DroidX shipping delay??

Just came from a VZW Company Store. (Sun Morn).
I asked if they had a pre-order date yet so they ( I use they to protect csr)
Looked it up .They said they just got a memo over the system that their will a ship date delay!!!.
They didn't have any more info to share with me.:eek::eek:

Anyone else ??? with info...

I guess this is pure BS from ME SORRY!!! for the heart burn

I call BS. They just wanted you out of the store so they could sell more of the older phones before DX's show up on the 15th.
 
yeah im saying BS on this too. Why do people keep asking if VZW will do preorders when there has been many different threads stating VERIZON ISN'T DOING PREORDERS FOR THE X!!
 
Oh great. Here goes the next internet rumor that is gonna spread through all of the tech news sites and spawn tons of new panic threads on forums.

Agree i think they need to make something that before you post something like this you need to have proof. Because then it spreads and people are like omg so and so said there is going to be a delay blah blah blah.
 
I have yet to see anything that would suggest a delay. Until I see concrete proof, I would think this is a rumor
 
If the store mislead I apologize .
However I have to believe that's it's the truth.
Will someone that has better research skills than me please put this to rest.

I'm not a rumor spreader but I do want my "X" like everyone else. I know some are juggling the the 30 days return policy, That is why I put this out here.

Verizon just announced this phone right before the iPhone 4 launch....obviously they wanted to get their product out there and hopefully take advantage of some of the phone hype going around.

Motorola is a great company that can usually meet the demands of the consumers, whereas we are currently seeing HTC struggle with this a LOT (look at the Evo, Incredible, etc....all on backorder)

I would think both companies would have thought this through more because their reputations are on the line and they obviously want to claim sales

I was the only one beside the csr's in the store at that time.

I've heard about this supposed delay for a few days now. I'm not going to believe any of it until someone manages to cough up some more sufficient proof. I certainly hope it's false, though. I'm burnt out on my iPhone and can't wait to get the X on the 15th.

I really like my Omnia 02 but like you I'm want to move on.

I haven't heard of this "shipping delay" for the X. Since they do not used AMOLED displays, they did not run into the problem of waiting for Samsung to get receive displays. From what was said from upper management, if VZW were to completely sell out of all the X's they have, it would be a HUGE success. We've already been told that the X should not sell out like the Incredible. Don't sweat it guys.

Don't know what the VZW rep was reading to me.But I'll most likely go to another VZW company store. Won't let that Rep get credit for my sale if that's how it works!!!!

Maybe they just wantes them all fir themselves and figured if they tild u tht you wouldn't come in on the 15th im sure moto had to have many x since verizon dsnt wanna have another mishap like with the inc
 
FWIW, this forum started the rumor that the incredible has been discontinued. I don't want it to happen again. True rumors good. False rumors bad. It's hard to tell the difference. However, the rumors I get from phone testers I tend to believe. All else? Grain of salt.

I called Verizon yesterday to make sure that mine was ordered, they said it was and they gave me a confirmation number. I had an issue with my Dinc so they let me get the X. The lady said it will ship as soon as they are in stock or on the15th. Hopefully it comes sooner.
 
How can their be a projected shipping delay when they still have like 11 days to go? They aren't pre-ordering this phone so there won't be any delays. Ppl need to stop asking verizon since it's been confirmed by several verizon reps on this site alone that they will NOT be pre-ordering the X. Cs reps know nothin til the last minute because they aren't at a high enough pay grade to be allowed more information. This thread will just start a mountain out of a mole hole which is really in all probability a speck. Just wait for July 15th. Peeps it ain't that hard to do and it's not like you got a choice but to wait. I want this phone too, but not so bad I'll flip if it gets back ordered online. Things like that happen with popular items and patients serves those well who use it. So either way you'll still get your phone and I'm pretty sure Verizon will do everything but kiss your butt if your nice and sweet to them like I am on the phone and in person if your operating within a thirty day window.
 
Preordered from Best Buy, so a phone call from them next week is probably in my Future. I'd say by about Tuesday, same procedure as when they did the EVO Release.
