Root Dropped Phone in uh "Water"

So, I through it rice, and it sort of survived it's just stuck in safe mode though.

Any way to get it out of safe mode, or is this the price I pay?

Pull battery and fiddle with all the buttons. Could be water in one of the buttons making it look like stuck button. Maybe try pulling sdcard and turning on phone without it. If not sound like something is damaged or corroded. How long did you let it dry out.

All night, also something is probably damaged on it, because I'm not getting any signal, and the buttons are all remapped. Actually I got it to get signal, and I think it's my volume buttons that causing the problem...

Except not this time, I opened up the phone and cleaned it out, it's difficult but worth it. Everything works except for I can only talk to people when it's on speaker, and the volume up and down don't work.

Had same issue with my kids where it only did sound through head phones. After trial and error I just did a full wipe then flashed my there rom and everything was 100%

The "water" can take a long time to really dry out. I'd say put it back in the rice for several days. Moisture damage can take a while to manifest, and longer to work itself out. There's every chance the phone will be...quirky. It may take a couple of months before it starts acting, uh..."normal." Pull everything apart when drying, that'll help.

Surprisingly my phone has returned completely to normal, besides my extended battery being fried. But yeah if it happens again I will leave it in rice for a lot longer, that was defiantly the problem.

Another tip, just in case your toilet likes the taste of your phone.

Use compressed air on the speakers and mics. This will cause quick evaporation of the water :)

I dropped mine in a cup last night.
Took it apart, wiped it out, and let it sit in some rice overnight.
It was in safe mode, and I did a 4 button restart and it went back to normal.
Too early to call anyone to see if it works properly, though it seems like the screen stays lit longer than it used to.

Nice to know these little things are tanks. My wife thought to clean her ov and put it in the washing machine. (accident of course) well after 2 days in some rice and I took it apart, every thing is back to normal. Can't think of another phone as tough as this little guy.

Looks like I'm SOL. My phone has gone berzerk.
I think I'm having residual issues after the 'tea break'. For a couple of weeks it was primarily shutting off on it's own. Then it was all back to normal other than one sticky button for a couple of weeks. Now it's lighting itself up constantly, and turning on the camera, usually when I'm trying to text or something.

I'm hunting Craigslist now for another one, or the Slider version.

EBay sells them cheap.
