thats perfectly fine.. but does it work if i have s-on...Basically its using the boot manager app. It's not technically dual booting, as the roms run off of your sd card.

S-off sounds far scarier than it actually is.
Do it, it will make your life with roms much easier.
I will def do it sooner or later but i just dont have the time... getting s-off.. then flashing radios... then setting everything up...
well your a dev.... im a simple user... anyways.. can you explain what hboots are, what they affect, and how they work...2 hours tops......... could probably do it all in 15 minutes

Still i had a tough time with the wire trick myself.......
any way about hboots....
When the phone is first powered on and the power has stabilized, boot code stored in firmware on the CPU is run. This initializes the fundamental hardware components required to boot the system such as low level memory, USB and storage. After this is complete, the boot loader is located and takes over the subsequent tasks needed to load the kernel and any drivers needed for the devices before finally landing you at the shell. This is what will load our kernel and required drivers and boot us into our Linux shell. On HTC phones at least, this bootloader is often refered to as HBOOT. Once initiated, the HBOOT goes on to load the system using the /boot partition. The information stored on this /boot partition can be altered, as with any partition, and contains the kernel and ramdisk for the system. While it is safe to flash most partitions on your device, along with the radio, your hboot is the one that is most certain to brick your device if something goes wrong.
....... I hope that answers any questions you had
The ENG hboot has extra troubleshooting features, allows you to flash any radio, and works with most roms.thats great... whats the difference between the different hboot options... which one has the most compatible kernels/roms

A few newer roms/kernels require the newer Hboot. Some older roms require the older hboot. It won't be long before you should be fine on the newer one only as the older roms fall out of favor or get compliant.
Once you get a radio that works, you can swap the hboot without worry.
