Due to high demand, this device will ship by 7/23

I'm EST, but I don't know exactly what they're referring to. When I was placing the order it was right around 4:15 my time by the time we got to that point. I was tossed around for 45 minutes beforehand. The guy said we had just made the 4:30 cutoff. Apparently, he was wrong. :(

Looks like the Droid X caught what the dinc has a sever case of back order! Verizons web site shows a ship date of 7/23 WTF!
 
please check to see if you are doubling another thread before starting one. ... especially on a hugely high-volume day like today. It makes my job harder. Thank you.

You should be smiling that the traffic has increased here :D
 
You have to wonder if carriers do this on purpose to create even more demand - ie the club with 30 minute line and 25 people inside.

Given the fact that this guy was the only one willing to help me with my DINC (I've had chronic battery problems since day 1 and no one wanted any part of helping me) I'm inclined to believe him. We'll never know if it's true or not but I'll choose to believe this ONE VZW customer service rep since he was able to get me an X swapped out for my launch day DINC for free just as he promised me last week he has some credibility in my eyes...

The rep at the local store I bought mine at said they were told that Verizon was selling 120 phones a minute at one point. I don't know if that was possible.
 
pretty soon they are just gonna refund everyone for the incredible as they keep getting further and further behind with no end in sight. Hopefully Motorola has enough which i assume they would but this is going to be a big hit for HTC since they cant get their shit straight

This sucks about the new backorder.... but when you have a hot phone flying off the shelves..... this is going to happen. I think that VZ just under-estimated-demand-for-some-reason.

(I like over hyphenating like an iphone fanboi now for some reason!)
 
Every major product launch is like this.. it's a good thing that it sold out. It won't get so far backlogged as the Incredible because there isn't an issue with parts supply.

Sucks for those that missed out on the first batch, but a week isn't long to wait for order fulfillment. Minor inconvenience at most.
 
I'm glad I went ahead and stood in line this morning - have phone in hand now. Thought about ordering online, would be a nervous wreck if I had.
 
I'm trying to look at it this way. (I know, way easier since mine is coming tomorrow!!!!!!!!!) For hubby and the rest who didn't get shipments today, at least the 7/23 days is STILL almost a month sooner than waiting on the Incredible. For it the original date was 8/9, CRS told me 7/24, and then told me mid to late August. :eek:
 
I ordered mine from a Verizon store in Il. at 8:00 AM today. I've got a fedex tracking number showing delivery Monday. I was sweating it when I saw this thread title. Phew! Now to settle in for a LONG weekend:D

IF it stays a week. The Incredible went crazy long wait very quickly. I walked into a corp store on the release day of the original Droid at about 11 am (they open at 9 am) and was able to walk out with one. I waited in line at a store that opened at 12 am last night only to be told that they were out and I had to order one that would be in about 10:30 Fri. Problem is I will be out of town Fri early am through Mon night. I freaking knew this crap would happen again. Dang I wish I could leave Verizon but I like being about to actually have signal everywhere. *sigh*
 
When i was talking to a CSR he was telling me that i could wait for a few weeks and use the NE2 cause they wouldn't move it farther than a month up, and there wouldn't be any problems like they had with the Inc being on back order. oh am i glad that i was skepticle and still ordered mine online asap.... info fail as always from a CSR (but he still gave me $40.00 discount cause i asked for it) AWESOME
 
This is ridiculus I was guaranteed by the vw salesmen 3 times that i would get my phone today i look on my account it now say 7/23 he ordered at 6aam and verified by 7am......
 
I have an extra droid x I bought as an upgrade if anyone is interested in paying $500 off contract? PM me if interested and we will discuss shipping or preferred pickup I live in NC.
