DX users on SPB Mobile Shell?

I posted this in another thread, then thought that I didn't want to pull that thread off-topic. So who is using SPB Mobile Shell?

It's sure freakin' expensive but you know what? I'd pay $15 for a launcher if it's awesome. The launcher is the part of the phone you touch the most, it's the basis for the whole user experience. If it's slick and efficient and usable, then bring it on.

Here's what I posted in the other thread:

I also don't think the 3d portion of Regina looks as nice as SPB shell, but then again I'm not spending $15 to try out SPB either.

I tried SPB.

It made me want to punch myself in the head.

It was all flash. No substance. No scrollable widgets. No options to set for preferences on how the shell acts. You can't place icons, they auto-arrange themselves. You can't even set the freakin' dock programs - it's either use the stock ones, or forget about it.

Incredible rip-off, IMO. Unless the stock design choices are exactly what you want, of course, in which case you might love it. But if it's not exactly what you want, pack it up and go home because you can't change anything.

I used it for about 10 minutes, then copied the APK and returned it. I copied the APK because there's no trial version and 15 minutes isn't long enough to evaluate a launcher - I would have re-purchased it if I liked it. So I played with it for another hour, felt like I was going to have to change everything about the way I wanted to use the phone in order to suit the launcher's rigid design choices, and deleted it.

Anyone else using it and like it? Sorry, but the ability to flip my phone into a 3D carousel isn't that useful, it's just pretty - and it ain't $15 worth of pretty.

I d/l'd a "trial" version, shall we say? I liked it ok, but it wasn't worth 15 dollars and although the transitions are nifty, I can't organize it like I would want to. For example, I prefer blur widgets or scrolling htc sense widgets (calendar, twitter, etc).

I got a pre-release version of it. Caused major rebooting issues and other instability with my phone. Was hard to review it, but they tried so damn hard to make it like the iPhone, it was kind of off-putting.

I signed up to be a beta tester months ago and never heard a thing from them. A week or so ago I got an email from them telling me that the response to the beta program was so great that my services were not required... however, I more than welcome to purchase the final version for $15. I didnt much care for the "other/trial" merry-go-round anyway.

i love it.....like you said the carousel is othing but eye candy but the widgets and performance of the launcher is incredible.....always smooth, i have no problem knowing i spent $15 on it

Love it.

Bought it.

Guess I'm just a sucker for eye candy.

I used it on all of my WinMo phones. It still doesn't support live wallpapers because they're a drain on the GPU (duh). Overall, it works silky smooth.

I use it. Whether or not it's worth $15 is up to you, but I was sick and bored and wanted something to play with at the time. This is an extremely smooth launcher, and I like the weather and calendar widget a lot. The carousel is pretty much eye candy, but it looks cool. In the grand scheme of things, $15 isn't such a huge investment that I'm worrying about it every day.

just tried it out last night. it is actually really nice and smooth. i dont like that i cant organize my apps the way i want it. i only want a weather/time widget and Gmail, market, fbook, and messaging on my home screen and i cant set it up the way i want it. i LOVE the weather widget, looking for one just like that actually. and i like the messaging one as well. very cool, but totally un necessary.
the carousel effect is cool, but not that useful. i like the colors, and all the graphics, but it just isn't work the $15 to me when go launcher makes everything i could ever want, 2 clicks away.

I bought it and while I'm not at all impressed with the functionality it has compared to the free launchers. I'm still using it, it just runs sooo smoothly and has a certain degree of polish lacking in the other launchers. Make no mistake, it has a fraction of the features found in the free launchers, but i've learned to live with that for the smoothness of the shell. When the freebies get major updates, I'll give them a try, but I'm rolling with SPB for now...

I just installed it tonight. Man...I might be using this. I like the app categories of GB Blur tho. The app drawer on this is smooth.

All the widgets I use can be used on here or any launcher so the customization is fine for now. SPB is alot better than Regina 3D to me. Yea the individual wallpaper feature is nice....but thats about it to me.
