Earbud recommendations?

Best bang for the buck that I've found is the Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket earbuds. I just bought two pair. One for dress (chrome), and one for knocking around (black). You can find them on Amazon for under $40.00. They have a microphone and button for phone and music functions that work great on the Optimus. My Sennheisers sound better but they also cost alot more. My Sennheisers also don't like to go out much.

I've tried the ones that came with the OpV, and even borrowed several kinds of the Skullcandy ones from my kids. Believe it or not, the best sounding buds I've ever used on my OpV have been the ones that come with an iPod.

The ones it came with are very good imo

Don't get me wrong but are you really saying that you like the stock earbuds? How do you get them to even stay in your ears without poping out? Then there's the sound quality.

Do they have the mic button?

I use a mono earclip headset with mic by PointMobol that I found at Radio Shack. Really good sound quality. Three different colored earpieces(which I don't use) .
I like this because I can still be aware of my environment, and hear someone that's trying to talk to me while I'm listening to music, without having to pull the earbud .

Why would iPod ear buds have a mic button? Is there some new iPod out there that uses a microphone?

If you mean for muting the sound... I'm not so lazy I can't reach an extra few inches to mute it on my phone lol. That, and I normally never have my ear buds in when I know someone will be speaking to me. I hate it when my kids walk around the house with a headset attached to their heads... I don't allow it in my house because it's rude. They can use them in their rooms.

The new ones do. Also iPod touch can Skype and all that I believe.

In all honesty I wasn't paying close enough attention to your post(I was trying to spead read the post in this thread before I had to leave the house) and my old brain assumed it saw iPhone instead of iPod .
Well at least we now know the iPod earbuds come with a mic.
Sorry for quoting in haste(having head were the sun doesn't shine).

While they sounded "okay", the shape hurt my ears. From some reviews I've been reading, the Sony MDR-EX75 or the Klipsch Image S4A might be worth checking out, along with the suggestions here. Hopefully there will be some deals on Cyber Monday, since I don't want to spend a lot of money, maybe 40-50 max. On a related subject, is there also some type of EQ app that will allow for sound adjustments?

DSPManager came with the ROM I'm running, but can't seem to be able to find it on the market.
You could try the Amazon app store.

DSP Manager Not sure this will work on a stock OpV as it may have been customized for CM7 OpV versions. (This download is listed in the Evo 4G subforum.) I highly recommend reading the entire thread before even trying.

i have ur answer. i have tried A LOT of earbuds. and this one is the best by far and the cheapest. usually i break my earbuds often but theese lasted and they have a compatible mic!!! LOL i hope i helped.

At $5.08 the price is right, but do they work with the Optimistic "V"
I only ask because you didnt give that info, and every time I assume I get into trouble.

I'm looking for earbuds with volume/track control for the Evo 4G. I'm a runner so I need something that's pretty secure and stays in my ears. Anyone know of any that will work? I could go to Bluetooth but we all know what that does to a battery.

I've actually been very surprised by the headset that was made for Palm Pixi or Palm Pre.
I tend to be a bit rough on my headsets and didn't want to spend a lot, so I got a few pairs of these based on the reviews at Amazon and haven't looked back since.

Gotta say, thanks for pointing them out! I had a palm pixi before i switched to android and I liked the way their accessories had the chrome or whatever spots in them. Ordered a pair a few days ago :-)
