I can't even get the file to DL on the computer ( WIN 7 Home Premium). I get an error stating that the install has closed prematurely and to restart the wizard. Uninstall and re-Dl from the site and same issue.....any soultions? THX

I bought the new thunderbolt and was pleased that I would be able to tether. We live in a remote area in N minnesota during the summer and to be able to use the phones data plan was a savings of about $60 a mo while we were here. I practiced and set it up in Houston before we left so I could do it here. We have an antenna pointed to a vz tower and get about 2 bars with the antenna and cradle. Well vz gives an update and will only support the hotspot. You could still tether but at 3mbps while the hotspot was 54 MBPS.. I got easytether and was pleased to see it work at 144 MBPS.....until I started uploading photos to my family site. And then ...and then.... it started disconnecting...I researched the internet between disconnects and stumbled upon a clue on this site. The clue was that they could stay connected on one user on the same computer but not another. The problem is solved if you go to start all programs (win 7 now) find easytether and rightclick on the exe program and choose RUN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR.....worked like a charm for me....

I'd get disconnected, kill apps maybe reconnect, maybe not. Finally I think I found the problem. If you're on a home network you have to disable the network connection (hard wired one anyway to the router) or it confuses the transport and causes it to drop. Once I disabled my network connection the thing fired up, held connection and frankly kicks butt in speed. Hope it helps.

I had a similar problem that my easytether would stop periodically. I disabled my wireless lan (I am using wireless to connect to my office internal internet) and the connection reappeared magically. I thought I fixed it, but it has since gone down even with the wireless disconnected.
By the way, Pdanet did the same thing. I'm thinking it is either a windows problem or a Sprint issue.

Thanks

Thanks

I have the same problem with easytether lite. I'm using Ubuntu, and I have HTC Evo G4. I have no other network connections on. i have Sprint as carrier. I have usb 2.0 for sure on computer. My screen is set to never never shutoff,so I have to hit power button to make screen sleep. I have excellent speeds when I update computer or surf, watch youtube, but when I try to download the occasional pirated file trough torrent, I get problems. The torrent speeds go up for a minute of two to normal fast speed, then the gradually work their way down. I found the a quick way and a long way to reset things. The long way: I have to kill the easytether app. unplug the usb. hit cnrl c to stop the terminal easythether app (the one on the computer). Then I just restart everything. The fast way is two steps. Just can't remember now. If I find out what is doing it, I'll leave the answer also. I've had this probem with some fire sharing programs on Linux at cafes. I switch torrent programs and the problem goes away, sometimes. I'm wondering if this is not a throttling issue by the carrier.
