Help Echoing effect

I just got my Incredible replaced through my manufacturer's warranty and everybody I talk to now says they hear themselves when they're talking to me on the phone. They call it somewhat of an echo and it makes it really difficult to hold a conversation when they hear themselves through their phone. Is there a fix for this or did I get a bad replacement?

BTW I'm rooted, running MIUI 6.17.1, but it was doing the same before root.

My wife received a refurb of a lg dare a couple years ago that did the same thing, had to get another one.
