Help Edit stock rom

Jaid98

Newbie
I am currently running UltimaRom on my Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and have previously used a few other Roms as well. I was wanting to revert to stock and use triangle away to regain my warranty but I don't want to be stuck with all the bloat. Is it possible to remove the bloat from the ROM before it is actually flashed so no root access is required to remove them?

Hey Jaid98,

Don't know the answer to your question, but I've moved your thread over here to the SGS3 area for you--I'd move it to the specific all-things-root area for you so that the smart folks in there can try to help you out but you'll have to post back and let me know which is the proper one (wow! there's a ton of 'em, LOL).

Thanks and best of luck!

:)

Pretty much no mate. You need root access to remove the bloat but you have to (as far as i know) flash a stock rom to remove root. I think the best you can do is install an unbranded version of the firmware if one is available for your carrier version EDIT there is since youre on gt-i9300 (international s3 @Scary Alien) ;)
Also, remember that if you remove system apps, your phone will be modified and you wont recieve updates.
If i was you id stick with the custom roms but maybe try some better ones and then use TA and return to stock if you ever need to use your warranty

Yes, actually, download WinRAR or 7zip on your computer, open the .zip file of the ROM, navigate to system/app, and remove whatever you want (right-click, then choose "Delete files") but just make sure you don't remove anything truly important like the launcher or anything related to phone or messaging.
