Editing contacts

I am having a problem with my contacts on my phone.

The contacts that I have through Facebook, some of them don't have phone numbers on their pages, but I have their numbers. My phone will not let me edit the contact to add the number, so now I have a bunch of double contacts in my phone, one for facebook, and the other that only has their number. One topic I found suggested to make sure that both names are spelled the same and they should automatically merge after a few minutes, and I double checked, they are spelled the same, and have not merged.

How do I make it one contact?

This is on my Driod

If you have your phone hooked up to a Gmail account, you can tell Gmail to merge the duplicates. It works like a champ!

All you need to worry about is merging old info.

Go in to the contact you want to edit (not the FB one, yours that you added) then: menu, edit contact, menu, join. That should bring up a list of contacts, choose the FB contact and it will merge them...click done.

It took me about 5 months to figure this trick out and it has come in handy. Especially when my friends use a different name on Facebook then I have in my address book.

names of the FB and your contacts have to be exactly the same.

The FB contact places first and last name in the same box.
