Root Elelinux 2.1 Problems Occured!

enemi

Newbie
Hi guys,

I updated my Froyd ROM to elelinux 2.1 today.
Done the normal procedure, backed up, wiped everything, and flashed the Rom.
Proceeded to flash a theme and the new kernel too.
However, when the phone is turned on and up and running, my home screen is totally blank.
It's just black.

Has anyone faced similar problems before?
Any solutions?
Thanks!

Hey Slug, I flashed the HTC stock + some added stuff theme and the 'smartass' kernel with no OC.

I actually managed to solve the problem but wiping my phone and flashing each part 1 by 1.
So I flashed the ROM first, then rebooted - no problem.
Flashed the gapps part 1 & 2, rebooted - no problem.
Flashed kernel, rebooted - no problem.

So I guess it boils down to the theme.

Anyone else had trouble with the HTC stock + some added stuff theme?

Thanks!

Everyone?! You dont flash a theme over a theme ... For a new theme you need to do a theme reset. Also you shouldnt flash themes between versions too. Artifacts can occur... etc . Write exactly what you flashed. Not just something something if its that called sorry :D

I actually read a post by Xyro saying that he flashed the update and the theme and then the kernel all at once, and it's supposed to work fine.

Flashed in this order;
- FROYO_2.2_elelinux_v2.1 updated 2010-10-07
- Htc_Stock-Android_v2.1 A mix of htc stock and android stock + some modifications
- Gapps part1
- Gapps part2
- FlyKernel-11 for CM6 with boot animation (528/176 (no OC))

I was coming from the VR12.0 ROM, so I believe a theme reset wasn't neccessary? Or am I wrong here?

Anyways, the problem has been fixed and it seems to be the theme that's causing the problem.

Enemi what I meant was. You said you flashed rom, kernel and theme and another theme. Theme and another theme can make trouble....
You can always flash 1 theme. If you want to change . Then you reset the theme and go with another. And the them HAS TO be designed for the ROM!

Actually I didn't flash 2 themes. :P

I flashed the ROM, theme, gapps then kernel.
As far as I know, there was only 1 theme flashed?

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, I'm new to this.

hah, I misunderstood too then :D . Sorry for that .
well do a nandroid and try to flash the theme again :)

I flashed the HTC Sense style theme (along with the kernel and the rom at the same time :) ) and I actually did have a bit of trouble.

First time I tried it I ended up with my phone bootlooping. Re-downloaded everything and started over and it worked just fine.

Thanks for the input Xyro.

So when the problem occured for you, you just re-wiped everything and flashed them 1 by 1?
Or did you redownload everything and then flashed them all together again?

Cheers.

I think it was all at once.

That's certainly how I do it normally anyway, this time shouldn't be any different. Redownloading them & making sure I'd done a full wipe is probably what sorted it,
