Help Emoji-droid?

My girlfriend can send me the android emojicons. But I'm not sure how to do that myself.
She's got a samsung galaxy s phone..
Could that be it?
 
If you get Handcent or GoSMS, you can get an emoji plugin. Then you'll be able to send the emojicons as well.
 
There's nothing really special about them, it's just how the phone chooses to display them when they're received. You can just type in the equivalent characters and when she gets the message, the emoji will be displayed.

The smiling robot is just : - ) , sad is : - ( , etc. (without the spaces of course)

The images aren't sent, just those characters. It's the phone on the other end that interprets them as images. On non-android phones, you just get the characters.

I understood this enough. But I want my phone to intrepret the little andtoids. Since it never did.
 
Ah, from your initial post I got the impression your GF could send them to you, but you couldn't figure out how to send them back.

I'm guessing what you want is for your phone to interpret the symbols as the little android icons like it did when the stock messaging app was originally installed.

Since you're not using the stock messaging app anymore, it might help to know what you're using in its place. Otherwise we're all just stabbing in the dark.
 
Are you rooted? If you are, I can give you a fonts pack that has all the emoji. You must be rooted though because you'll have to paste it in the system fonts folder

EDIT: Just reread OP. Are you referring to when she types for example : ) and a smiley face emoticon appears?

I am rooted.
And yes I know how to send smileys.

But I don't want round and yellow.
I wand green and android-y.

I did take a look at the emoji pack from handcenr but they have too many I don't need lolz.
