Help Employee locator

My company just gave us this phone HTC Inspire 4G, Boss is spreading rummers that he can locate us when ever he wants just because it has GPS. We think it's just to scare the employees. OK... is it possible?

I believe I read somewhere here that the google maps app has a locate feature. Also htcsense.com I think it is, if you register the phone on there you can locate the phone. But this is only when the site actually works

There are ways. Google latitude might be one way depending on if its setup, Same with htcsense.com way. AT&T has some family locator thing.

I've never used any of the above but those are three ways im aware of you can "track" people.

if they gave you the phone for work, then they can do what they want with the phone.

my employer CAN track people via GPS on our blackberries, I dont think they ever do it.

If you want to go unseen but still need to have someone reach you by phone, forward your work cell to your personal.
