Help Enabling USB Debugging Blind

Hello,
I dropped my phone yesterday and now my screen is not working. However, I can use the touch screen. Could anyone help to guide me through enabling USB debugging so that I can use screencast to access my phone? I would greatly appreciate whatever help you can offer!

I have a rooted HTC Incredible running 2.2. Thank you.

If I'm understanding your request, you want a blind guide as to where to press to turn on USB debugging? If so, here goes:

Press the Menu button then settings which is in the lower right corner

Applications option - this is going to be tricky because it's in the middle after scrolling down a little and I'm not sure how to tell you how to get to it, but put your finger at the bottom of the screen and move it up a little more than halfway. Applications should now be the last option at the bottom of the screen, so press there.

Development is the last option and is right in the middle vertically.

USB debugging is the first option so you will need to press below where the notification bar would be. A box will pop up and you have to press OK. OK is on the left, about 1/4 of the screen from the bottom.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! That is very helpful and what I was looking for however I was not able to successfully enable debugging. I'll keep trying but do you know if its possible to use either the volume rocker or optical joystick to select options?

Also is there any vibration feedback when selecting these menus so I know if I have hit them?

Don't know if this will help, but after hitting menu > settings... To get to "applications" if you scroll the screen all the way to the bottom(by swiping up), "applications" is the choice about an inch from the top of where the screen starts.

Thank you, still no luck getting it to work though! It's frustrating as I don't even know if I'm close! Oh well though shouldn't have dropped it.

On another note, is it possible to replace the slcd screen with a amoled one? I can't seem to find any slcd replacement screens and when I do they are quite a bit more expensive.

Maybe you could find a usb video cable somewhere and just plug it into your tv.

You can use the trackball to move between options instead of swiping, but that's not going to help you any. No haptic feedback on the scrolling.

"lazy droid" is also available in the market which has remote viewing to your pc if rooted, but would still run into the problem of enabling permissions, and getting the app started after pushing it to your phone from the web market.

...but should be able to start it from the notification bar right after it installs... and it plays your notification tone to let you know it's running. Once you click the remote viewer on the web desktop it asks for super user permissions. (only works with firefox and IE).

Thanks for the tips guys! Unfortunately it doesn't seem Lazy Droid will work as I still need adb enabled in order to install .apks to the phone. Unless there is another way to do this?

Any chance the optical trackball is easier/more accurate for doing this blind?

I'll also look for a video cable and see if that might work.

you can install apps from the web market using a pc, it automatically sends the app to your phone wirelessly.
