Help Entered wrong unlock code.

Lurker
So I've moved to California from Ireland. When I came over I picked up a cheap smart phone (Nokia Lumia 521) with MetroPCS as the service provider. After about 5 months of constant problems with the Lumia (Freezing, replacement phones, same problems) my friend said he would send me over his Galaxy S3 from Europe. So I get the S3 and it says I need an unlock code (Friend thought it was unlocked). So my friend calls the provider and gave a different IMEI code to his provider (Accidentally) and sent me on the unlock code. The unlock code gave me access to the phone but I can't connect to my service provider MetroPCS. It says "Unable to connect. Try later" when I try to do it manually.

So after getting I sent the correct IMEI code to my friend. He has sent me on a new unlock code. But now since I have access to the phone I don't have any where to assign the correct unlock phone?.

- Is it possible to fix this problem?.
- Is the problem to do with assigning the wrong unlock code?.

Thanks!

Hmm. Do you mean carrier unlock mate? Have you tried takin the sim out and putting it back in to see if it asks for the code again?
Are you sure the carrier you're with will work on an international phone?

Wish I could help bro. What carrier are you on and maybe someone in the US will know
Welcome to the forums btw

Hi, have a look in settings and check that you have a valid IMEI number listed. If yes then try a different carrier SIM (not Metro) and see if you get asked for an unlock code.
