Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

I'm use to windows mobile phone powering down overnight while on charge.. I used cooked roms on them and made them funny from time to time.

But I've never had an android phone power down overnight.. and like I said it seemed a bit different this morning.

It was real laggy yesterday and I had to reboot it several times. I was having the sound issue, text message lag and all. This morning when I found it powered down I turned it on and didn't get the gmail password prompt. The screen brightness seems a tad different and all the lag issues I had yesterday are gone.

Doesn't match my kernel: 2.6.29-5cf233c2 and software is the same: 2.26.605.2
Mine still has the sign in issue.

Sorry- I'm referring to the quick search that comes up when I press the phones search button on the home screen. I know the quick search box is supposed to provide suggestions while you type. (see video) But all I get is an option to "search the web"

I'm getting application suggestions as I type (if I type "f" it suggests the Facebook app), but it doesn't suggest from any other categories that I have enabled in Settings>Search, such as People.

Hmm, all of the other stuff is working for me, it takes a second, but they usually show up unter "more results..." Like: apps, bookmarks, calendar, people, mail (not gmail), music, etc...

Just no google search suggestions. It's just a bummer to have to wait for the browser to load just to figure out how to spell something, or think of a movie title, etc. Oh well. Here's hoping for an OTA update soon.

Oh, I was being too impatient. It's showing the other results after a few seconds, but no Google search suggestions.
 
my understanding (limited as it is) was that the OTA will not happen without positive confirmation accepting the update. in other words, once notification comes in regarding the update, you have to accept the action before it begins.

if that's not the case, somebody please correct me.

I'd say that's a big YES!

The update will not be subtle.

The update will not look the same as the Android Market telling you that calculator plus has a implementation of the non-linear algorithm for calculating square roots in log n time.

The update will not happen while you are on an airplane in Canada, causing your over-excitable son to start posting "It's Here!" all over the internets.

When the update happens to you, you'll know it.

I added the BAC shortcut to my screen and voila. Happiness.

My assumption is the OTA 2.1 will fix this?

Hope so... cause although using browser vs. the app itself isn't much different, it's still nice to have it as an app by itself.
 
After updating my usb doesn't mount. It charges the phone, but I can't access the memory card. Any ideas as to how I could fix this? :confused:

You should have options when connecting the phone to the computer.

Charge Only
HTC Sync
Disk Drive

You want to select Disk Drive to be able to access the SD Card.

When you plug your phone to the usb port it should prompt you telling you its been plugged in and give you the following options:
Charge only
HTC Sync
Disk Drive

If not, check your notifications you should see the usb icon, if you press it, it will give you the options i mentioned above.
 
my battery and awake time is the same, i've tried ending all of my tasks and everything but it is still the same, i even disabled the text message notifications and almost always turn off my data if im not using it but still, it is the same.

wish i would have waiting for someone to root the damn thing
 
Alright, I just got off of the phone with HTC for the first time. I will say, I am actually impressed; It only took me one Menu Option ("#2" for all other HTC phones) to actually speak to a rep, and I didn't have to wait. That's even better than Apple Care (say what you want, they are ranked very highly as far as customer service goes)

I was calling primarily because even after doing a restore, my Facebook contacts still won't sync. My personal card is synced. My picture has the little "F" at the botton left hand corner. He said try logging in/out. It didn't do anything, but I knew he wasn't going to be able to really help me so I just thanked him and told him that I got it to work. (to politely get off the phone)

Anyway, he took the default approach and said that the reason my Facebook contact's where not syncing was probably because of the leaked rom. Other people can do it though, and we all have the same leak.

I figured starting from scratch would do the trick...and I haven't even downloaded the facebook app yet.


Why would only my contact card be synced, and not any of the others?

The only other thing that had been bothering me about my phone was the dialer, which really pushed me over the edge to reset the phone. It's working again, for now. And the phone is once again snappier. Still support not needing a Task Killer, Battery life is working as it's supposed to, but I'm going to maybe try and not DL as many apps until we get the official update.
 
I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere and didn't feel it deserved a thread: Is there a way to find your downloads in the market for 2.1? Am I overlooking this? Haha.

Are you trying to reload them after a factory reset? Otherwise by pressing menu in the market and then downloads it should show all downloaded since reset last.
