i can only answer calls and hang up with my BT head set. no voice and no LNR

I successfully used mybackup to restore stuff after doing the 2.1 upgrade ... it easily restored my SMS and MMS messages, as well as the call history.
A couple of notes, though: you can use it to restore apps, but only the ones that aren't copy protected. (The copy-protected ones don't even make it into the backup file.) Also, it would be a bad idea to try to restore the user settings that mybackup stores, since they likely won't be compatible with the new OS version ... and bad things may result.

great ...what page?
Hey guys 1st time poster here! I flashed 2.1 last night and these are the issues I am having:
- Cant follow links on the bank of america app
- I have no bars but when I make a call or receive one the bars come back up
- When I make a call the phone highlights the "mute" button and makes a quick vibration. Does anyone know if I can fix this in the settings?
- When I restart I have to log in to gmail again and the programs menu deafaults back to icons. I like it on a list.
- The weather widget says it cant new weather info so I have to refresh. Doesnt happen to often.
I'm still loving my 2.1 though!

Yea mine looked the same and it freaked me out too, but it worked just fine. Took less than 10 minutes.
Caddy if we have ours working fine, no major bugs (just the 1 bar thing, but my reception is actually fine, and no effect on battery) should we move to the one you linked to?

... is there anyway to stop it in the process of updating assuming that is what it is doing since it is messed up or whateverI think this is with almost all apps that link to the browser. tRSSReader is the only one I've tried that does allow you to go to links in the browser.
I haven't had this one, but others have, not sure if there's a solution. You can try *228, option 2 to see if that helps.
I'm having this issue as well, and would love the answer as well. Also, while someones answering, anyone figure out why it sometimes takes a couple of seconds to show an incoming call and allow you to answer it?
I had this problem, the one with relogging in, not the one defaulting back to icons (how do you change it to a list?!?!), but after a few reboots, it stopped asking. A couple of other people have had it stop also. Maybe wait til you've rebooted a few times and see if it goes away?
I had this happen once in a while on 1.5 too. No idea on that.

Mine is around 50% I don't know why..I posted a few pages back that my phone was showing 1-2 bars while sitting under a repeater. debug showed -59 db on 1x and -98 db or so on the evdo side (which should = the 1-2 bars). I'm thinking the bars are defaulting to evdo since when I text or make a call they would shoot to 5 instantly. now at my house where the numbers are a little more equal I'm seeing less fluctuation. Battery life doesnt really seem any worse for me so far but its only been installed since about 10 am.

hope i dont brick my phone ... that would be bad ... but it is under the insurance thing right? theyll replace it even though its my fault?
Go into "all programs" and press menu. The list option should pop up!

I didn't see this posted, but I may have missed it...
While reading about battery usage and 2.1, I decided to check mine... I noticed my battery got sucked up today.
When I checked, I was surprised to find that the number one thing using my battery was.... the CAMERA! 91%!!!
I took some pictures at lunch time... I guess I didn't back out of the camera correctly or something... Downloading a Task Killer now.
Anyone else see this?

I think if you're getting the triangle/caution sign, you either went to recovery or fastboot. If it doesn't come out of that screen after a while, you'll probably have to pull the battery and start over and make sure you get into hboot.
Technically, your insurance won't cover it if you brick it. However, there are ways around this. /whisper

i think i did go into recovery ... if i pull my battery can i try again or will it mess it up?

i pulled the battery and held the volume down and some lines of txt came up and then it just stayed on that menu so i think the file or whatever the pb00img thing didnt work ... i got it off thekrtek.net tutorial ... caddy can you give me the link to the one you downloaded so i can try all this again
The sound going out is a huge problem. I had to restart the phone to make an important call just a while back. Made the call, which went through, but I had no clue since I heard no ringtone. Or someone talking on the other end. Sound goes out uniformly as YouTube videos don't work, and neither do notifications. Not sure what triggers it.

Alright guys heres some info and things i found
I tested out service in my store. Side by side with another eris.1.5 full bars. Mine 2-3. Debug mode. Both had same dbm . In VZW stores there is a receptor to give full bars voice only not 3g. I came to conclusion that possibly we are seeing our 3g coverage and when we call we see our bars jump since it switches to just voice. I still think its a bug tho because in battery use i get between 40-90 percent no cell service which is wrong.
Also I called HTC. They said we will be able to update more than likely ota because this isnt the final build and that people within HTC are using what we are and it is the tester build. He said he has heard of a lot of bugs. He also said we would have no problem installing the Rom from pcdphones.com whenever update is out.
Also in quick settings it says no vpn. He told me that that is what is causing us not being able to click certain links and apps and was shocked when i told him there was no vpn.
Hope this clears few things. He didn't say when a update would come out even knowing I work as a tech for vzw. he also asked if i got the live wallpapers to work.
