Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

Yes it does have 7 screens, they were talking about running "home" instead of HTC Sense...Home just has ONE screen. 2.1 leak has just as many screens as 1.5

Thanks....I'm thinkin about takin the plunge....I have the newer leak saved on my hard drive.

Hope you don't mind me correcting you, but Home actually has 3 screens. I've been switching back and forth, and I honestly can't figure out which I prefer. There are good benefits to both.

posted in another thread..forgot about the sticky.

Have been running 2.1v2 for a week now, yes it has 7 screens using Sense.

I get a terrible lag when someone calls. Seems more often then not, the phone rings for about 3-4 seconds BEFORE I even see the screen or get the slide down bar.

Anyone else have this problem?

Is there another leak besides 2.1v2 ? Is there a v3 or a v4 already?

I was just getting ready to post about the same thing. My phone will start ringing and like you said it will be 3-4 seconds before it will let me answer it. Hitting the green/send button before the call screen is up wont do anything either.

Also when I receive a call it comes up as an unknown contact even though all my contacts are synced through Gmail. Has anyone else experienced that yet?

Nope, just 1 and 2. As for the phone lag, I've gotten that also, but a restart usually fixes it for a little bit. Also, I got the v.2 the day it was posted, and since then the dialer lag has improved, so patience with it might be a fix, not a good one, I'm horrible at it myself, but it is starting to get a little better.

I've been on 2.1 v2 for about 5 days now and have discovered another weird little thing. I tried playing some of my music I have on my phone and it would start to skip songs or play them for a few seconds then start it over. Has anyone else noticed this? Worked fine before on 1.5.

Add me to the list of 2.1v2 dialer lag. It can take upwards of 5 seconds to display Caller ID info which is very annoying. I am pretty sure 2.1v1 did not have this issue at least on my cell. Looking forward to the latest leak!!

Newb here, on 2.1 for 2 days. This is probably a stupid question, but why does the clock not update when the phone is locked? When I go to unlock the phone the time shows correct on the slider bar and at the top, but for a couple seconds when the home screen displays you can see the clock is still at the time when the phone was locked, then it updates. This makes the alarm completely useless. IE: Set it for 6:00 am at 9:00 pm the night before, lock the phone, then wake up late at 6:30 cause the alarm did not work, unlock it and it is still showing 9:00 pm. Grrrrrr

I have rebooted, and done the *228

Help, I want to love 2.1 but so far the clock sucks, it is slower, and chewing yup battery twice as fast, and also randomly opens all the applications, and I have to kill them all.

I hope I don't sound like a broken record....but after reading a few pages and noticing there are 29 pages on this thread...

The 2.1 is running great for me, the only thing I can't get to work is the pictures showing up in gmail emails. When I click "show pictures" it changes to show the pictures but they are just blue squares with a question mark.

Every time I check the running services, I see that Google maps has a process running called "FriendsAppWidgetUpdate." I stop it every time, and every time I open the running services again, it's still running. I have no idea what this is, and I don't use the Latitude function of google maps (why would anyone use this - except maybe a protective parent?).
I'm on the newest 2.1 leak. Anyone else seeing this?
Yes i have the same problem! it keeps android at like 50% awake...

Not sure if this has been posted already. With the 2nd 2.1 leak, does anybody else have this problem? When I check the market in order for me to see any new releases I have to go back into the settings and clear the market cache first before it refreshes and anything new will be shown. This was kind of annoying initially but now its just irritating. Has anyone been through this and have a possible solution?

Still using 2.1v1, and yes it has terable dialer lag. Restart will clean it up for a bit but it is soon back.

The clock widget goes to sleep just like the phone does. It updates as soon as you wake the phone up though. This has nothing to do with the alarm not working though. Your alarm isn't working because you are killing it with the task killer. When you kill the clock app you kill the alarm. This is the reason I warn people about using task killers in the beginning. If you don't know what the app does, don't kill it. Which means that most new people shouldn't have them at all.

I'm still really stunned at how awesome my battery life is now. Saying it lasts twice as long might be an understatement.

Just wanted to give an update...

I decided to do a factory reset last night to see if that would fix having to sign into gmail after every reboot and the pictures in gmail, ect. Just rebooted and I did not have to enter my password, appears that my factory reset solved this issue. However my weather is now not updating correctly, has the right temp but keeps showing the moon, go figure.

Need a verification..... My contacts were previously syncing fine, however since the 2.1 update ALL google contacts are syncing.

If I go into PEOPLE>GROUPS>MENU> all I get is ADD GROUP or DELETE GROUP. There is no SYNC GROUPS like there used to be, so I can't uncheck all google contacts.

I know others have this problem as well from searching the forum. Is this 2.1 related? Can everyone else still find the sync contacts option under menu?

People, menu, view, un-check "show auto gmail contacts."

Awake Time divided by Up Time.

Well I am at 40%, I use to be around 18%. I have noticed my battery not lasting as long as it use to but I think that might because I am playing with it more, which would give me more awake time and a higher percentage.

Couple of odd things that have happened today.

1. After removing the phone from charging on my laptop the USB icon remained on top bar. Could not get it to go away.

2. My phones screen would not turn on with the rad button had to plug charger in and then it was fine

I understand that, but this still syncs over 800 people to my phone as opposed to the just over 100 that I'd like. There's no way to save that phone memory and only sync "my contacts"? Sad.
I've posted this before and will repeat it (HTC, Verizon, Google, Android are you listening ?), in 1.5 you could select a specific group of contacts from your master list of Google contacts. It was suggested that users create a "cellphone contacts" only group and then select that on the phone. That was a great solution ! Why did they remove it ?
