Root Eris All things ROOT THREAD: Apps and ROMS Updated 05/06/2010

i changed to sense-able and havent used adb shell yet and now it works great, and its a great looking rom, id highly recommend it
 
having trouble with overclocking, ive tried the overclock widget and set cpu and it seems like the phone wont hold the clock settings. and it says that its running at 482-528 even if i clock to max at 550 or 575
 
What kind of stability issues might I be looking at? Sorry of thats a stupid question.

Mainly "Hangups"...Like while running sense you might have some drag times where it all slows down.
Never really had that issue myself...but it can happen.
 
thank god for nand backup... hey acidbath did you use the one on grdlocks page, if you used a different one can you post it?
 
I can really find mine on my server right now for some reason...was pretty much tha same as GRDLOCK's...

concerning the stuff listed above, i know the custom roms are a no go for MILESTONE...but what can i use here on my phone since it has a "limited" root.
 
Nothing here will work on any device except an Eris most likely. Maybe individual apk's such as Nexus gallery, LWP Picker, and wireless tether.

Pretty much everything is Root related...So without Root...your kinda out of luck :(
 
I was asking because the one on grdlocks page went crazy as soon as I started the phone, sense kept crashing. if you did have that problem I was thinking maybe there was something different in the files

Hmmmm thats odd...
I can try to look again..but I lost on my server over the weekend with a pretty crappy crash :(
I saved most of my WinMo Kitchen and Android Kitchens...
But lost some random stuff...

Any thought on this GRDLOCK?

Which ROM you looking for? I have quiet a few just saved on my HDD after use.
 
I downloaded a file from grdlocks page to speed up my cpu, acidbath used a similar file and his did fine mine crashed sense... a lot, so I would like to try the one acidbath used

I didnt download JIT as I use Sense and dont want to risk the crashing. Sorry couldnt help ya.

Side note: From what GrdLock says is that if you use this with Sense, it might crash. And you say you are using Sense? That could be the reason. Just a thought.
 
I wouldn't have, but when i askee about it acidbath said he had no issues and he was running almost the same thing
 
JIT's can cause stability issues with anything really, but the main thing you'll almost definitely have troubles with is if you use them with Sense.

Last night my girl came over and said that Sense was crashing a lot...LOL...had the JIt's issue....so I spoke to soon it looks like :)

I did load her up on Vanilla Droid and it is really smooth and quick..
Messed with it a bit and it is really stable and quick ROM..

I can't believe you lied to me... I thought youre supposed to be a guide :) and then making a hookers phone all great, I'm just a little hurt
