Eris gone from Verizon Website...

Our HTC Droid Eris... is no longer showing up on Verizon's website.

It's still in the support pages, but not in their smartphone "line up" page.:(

Anyone know if it's still displayed in stores?
 
This is to be expected, with the slew of androids hitting vzw/sprint/tmo handsets are getting retired earlier and earlier. And vzw does have an interesting lineup, including your own version of the evo. (Droid x, I think)

I'm not sure if I understand why the Eris is being reported as not at the Verizon Wireless website; I am looking at it right now in another tab.. it is at the link I provided up there in the 2nd post and it is also in the My Verizon page when going into "upgrade phone" on the list of smartphones.
 
Yep.

Why are some saying they're not seeing it? Is it possible there is a regional difference in what is displayed at Verizon pages?
 
Any ways, who cares?! we all have erises and I dont know about you but I love my eris and dont plan on getting a new one

BTW: The Eris shows up online for $49.99 here in Texas

it has been removed from the normal store lineup, that is to say when you do a normal search to shop for phones............ it hasnt been removed from other locations yet because they are not simply text files for html.......... they are flash objects etc (not as simple as highlight a couple lines and delete)............if you goto the resource center and look at the eris thats listed (yes I see it there)........ then try to buy one.......... youll have your answer......... it has been discontinued period
 
It's not on the page where it lists all the 3G smartphones on the main verizon page. I was in a Verizon store last night and it also was not on display in the store anymore.
 
It's not on the list of smartphones for me.

I can search for the Eris, and it finds it.

If I click buy now, it returns a message that this product is no longer available.

no it took you to the plan selection page....... then the accessories page ... etc........ but when you try to checkout it will tell you the same thing............it takes you through the extra steps from the resource center because thats a flash object........ its preprogrammed to go through those steps

if you simply did a search for eris from the home page then tried to buy one youd get to the same place much faster........... discontinued
 
Interesting.

I'm wondering (again) if it's a regional offering for the time being.

When the Incredible came to the stores up here where I live, I did notice that the Eris was relegated to a display in a different part of the store where fewer people were milling about; and only one as there were multiple Incredibles and Droids here and there.
 
I spent 1.5 hours at one of the local stores here yesterday, they had a "Droid" section; 2 each: Eris, Moto Droid, and only 1 Incredible.....5 employees, and about 70 customers. :mad:

Sorry I was venting, but I feel much better now.
 
youll continue to see them in some local stores until that stores stock dwindles........ something tells me stores arent gonna want to throw away their remaing inventory simply because the company discontinued the item
