Eris to v2.x, when?

Anyone else get the feeling that this was "leaked" to the general public to see if anything was missed by the testers? I mean what better way to do a thorough job testing than to let the general public go at it??

Microsoft did that with Windows 7, but I doubt this was an intentional leak.

Also, I tried the airplane mode trick - it worked for me too with regards to the %. The only real issue I've encountered with the update is every so often the phone dialer will be really laggy. I'll press a contact and nothing, then it dials after I've pressed home or another button/contact, etc. Great job to all the posters who've been extremely helpful over the past week!

Intentionally or not, it's worked out well for them! ;)

Maybe... I'd still like to believe that they did this intentionally. I'll help me sleep at night, knowing that they are that smart... ;)

no, lots of people think this about all OS leaks, like blackberry too, and no, i think there is no basis whatsoever to think these things are leaked on purpose in order for them to make us all testers for them...

if they did, wouldn't the chinese leaker guy have dropped a complete working package and not one that needed to be patched.

regardless of that though, IMO, the whole idea is HIGHLY unlikely.

they did? i knew you could use win7 in beta just by signing up free, i didnt know there was a leak before that though

both their and they're i doubt are watching any forums...

maybe some of their devs/techs/testers are (watching forums) in order to find bugs and get brownie points for "discovering" them with their managers. but i doubt anyone is officially watching any forum.

Sorry, I was referring to Microsoft using the general public as beta testers for Windows 7. Wasn't trying to say it was a leak.

Whenever I make a call the phone vibrates before it rings. I remember or falsely remember there was a option to turn that off in 1.5, but there is non-apparently in 2.1 if it ever exited. Anyone?

i dont think that option ever existed, i dont think it did that with 1.5 (i could be wrong though)

and no i havent seen an option to turn it off (and yeah, it is annoying.)

There were the official RCs and then there were versions that had updated builds every week or two. I dunno what those were called, but they made their way on to torrent sites with version numbers so I'm thinking something similar to what was done to the 2.1 leak (some hacker had to do some clean up work and then it worked) had to be done to those versions of 7. Those versions were patched so they eventually became more stable and didn't need to be activated. Once the final update was released, you had the final product.

I have not been able to find an answer to this so please don't shoot me if this has already been asked. Could someone tell me how to turn off the weather animation? I would like to see if this improves battery life.
